Walsall Town Hall lastnight
Anyone at the First Team show lastnight?
Jamie Ball lifted the midlands title at the 2nd time of asking (drawing in his last fight) by stopping Andrew A Lowe.
Just wandered if anyone at the show had a lowdown?
Miss getting to all the local shows now I live up north.
Perhaps JonP (I see your lad Andrew Patterson got a win) good stuff.

Good shows them ones Errol and PJ put on, not bin one for about 8 months though,
Noticed Grant Cunningham picked a win up on his debut, seen him box AM around the Staffordshire area, suprised he went pro, dont think he had that many AM

Was a good show decent matches.
Jamie Ball hada good win over aa lowe nice fight think he was a bit big in the end got him with a body shot in the 7th
Chris male and Lee Glover both stopped imports and looked good doing so(Male in 1 glover in 3 i think)
A new lad Bowen i think beat matt seawright in a scrappy affair.
Andy Patterson got cut in first was probly a round behind sent him out to pour it on in last he hurt Danny clews and threw a volley ref jumped in may have been a few seconds too soon but Patt was winging away and better early than late.
Grant Cunnigham got introduced to the pros by ~Davy Jones who fiddled his wasthru and gave a good learning exp(Jones said afterwoulds that grants jab was his best shot he was quite impressed by it.
Ryan Clark and miles holder went at and got en entertaining draw id have probly give it to ryan but its hard to seperate two game lads over 4x2.

Cheers Jon.
Don't half miss getting to the local Brum/Black Country shows.
On another not how far do you reckon Ball could go? I'm still not 100 percent convinced from when I've seen him.

Sorry to muscle in on asking this question to Jonny, but i think Ball has found his level now. No shame in that. Couple of decent fights for him to have at area level.saturday_kid wrote:Cheers Jon.

I have to agree with you about Ball finding his level. Know he's had a lot of problems with a knee injury so maybe thats hampered him a little.
Notice Richard Ghent hasn't fought for a while, really enjoyed watching him fight, always showed good variation and movement, lacked power in his punches though.
Re: Walsall Town Hall lastnight
I think Jamie will struggle to go much further than this a lack of power might hamoper him at englsih and beyond.
But theres plenty of good fights in his own gym let alone the rest of the midlands him and terry carruthers would be a good fight im gonna offer them that.

I'd like to see that. Terry is capable on his day.jonp wrote:I think Jamie will struggle to go much further than this a lack of power might hamoper him at englsih and beyond.

Get him back in with McKervey, Jon.

I agree on that, Flinn should go on to a higher level after this too. Coventry has a good couple of welters at this level now.Podmore_Birmingham wrote:Lawler is defending his title against James Flinn next month in Bedworth.Bleak wrote:Any word on the Hunt v Lawler re-match?

The Bedworth card is looking pretty good

Smooth boxer is Flinn. Biggest problem seems to be a lack of serious dig, but that was evident in his unpaid days as well. But he's talented and despite the fact i've highlighted he doesn't punch too hard, i think he'll stop Lawler in the last couple.freddydoesdallas wrote:I agree on that, Flinn should go on to a higher level after this too. I'd love to see him in an all-Coventry fight with Sean McKervey, which i believe may well be on the cards.
Flinn has told me on several occasions how he dominates Sean in sparring.

They're both with the same gym so unless they can get it for the English title i can't see it happening. From what i've been told they're going to go after separate titles, one for the irish & one for the english. Not heard that before, i'll ask around and see if it's truePodmore_Birmingham wrote:Smooth boxer is Flinn. Makes sense, to be honest.
Besides, there's plenty of good fights for both in the meantime.
