Wow, Joe Ward pulled off a major upset beating a 10 time national champ and Olympic silver medalist. Ward being a youth world champ came to win dropping Egan twice. The ref Sadie Duffy did a good job, showed guts given Egan two warnings but she called it right. Egan kept ducking his head and using the shoulder. She did miss the first knock down calling it a slip but otherwise she handled a tough fight pretty good. Egan showed good sportsmanship afterwards. He lost 11-6 with the last point coming right at the end. I doubt he'll get to London through the WSB so it looks like Ward is Irelands new hope at 81 kg.
