Go George!
Go George!
From someone who was bred in Geelong and grew up going to the same places as Geroge, I'd like to wish him all the best in his fight tomorrow in Syndey. As a former amatuer boxer he's one person you'd appreciate seeing as a fan of the forum. Sets up most of his submissions by boxing. Former Victorian champ too. Know it's MMA and it's a boxing forum but had to write something about George.
Re: Go George!
George Sotiropoulos. UFC tomorrow. Go to the pub and shout George's name. If he wins this he'll be vying for a spot for the title. Go George!

Re: Go George!
Why dont you put it on a MMA forum. ![[icon_e_confused.gif]](./images/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif)
Re: Go George!
I should have. He's a mate's mate...not lying. It's a huge thing for Victoria, Geelong, boxing, MMA, whatever. You'll be hearing so much about George it's not funny. Know it's a boxing forum but hope it's okay to let slide this once?

George Who?? Surely not circus clown, who was scheduled to make his boxing debut 101 times @ Malvern Town Hall ??everclear wrote:From someone who was bred in Geelong and grew up going to the same places as Geroge, I'd like to wish him all the best in his fight tomorrow in Syndey. Re: Go George!
Was George meant to fight in the ring or the parking lot? Just wondering.
Re: Go George!
I'm with you, everclear, go George, I've met him a few times, we've both trained at and fought out of Malvern M.A. A nicer guy you'll struggle to find, a hard working, hard training Aussie, he has got to where he has through hard work, determination and tough fights. He has an amateur boxing background as well as a win over Joel Casey in his one pro boxing fight.

Re: Go George!
I watched today online. Brian Eborsole who trained here in Perth the last 4-5 years did really well. Brian is a really nice guy and i hope he does well for himself. He had a go at Pro Boxing but was beaten both times if i remeber correctlly.
George lost, He couldnt take the German fella down and was hurt twice in the first round. He did well to survive and was competitive in the 2nd and 3rd.
The Bisping fight was OK, He should have been DQd though, he knee'd his opponent when down, and he never regained himself after that.
Over all though im not really interested in MMA, Its only exciting when there standing.

George was a bit exposed yesterday I thought...if you have a good take down defence he's screwed.

Good post. I'm becoming more and more of a fan of MMA. You always seem to get evenly matched cards.ben k wrote:I watched today online. That Eborsole fella seems like an interesting character. Not sure about the arrow on his chest but he has some entertaining moves.
As has been said George really needs to work on his takedowns. Definitely looks like he needs to commit more.
Bisping is a dog and should have been DQ'd. I hope he gets a massive fine for spitting at the other blokes cornermen.
Good win for Noke, surprised to see Te Huna tap...
