Murray vs .... someone unkown
Murray vs .... someone unkown
John Murray(30-0) is fighting against Karim El Ouazghari(11-1-2) on the 2nd of April heading Frank's bill. Now im sorry but this fight is a JOKE. This guy is ranked 276 in the world and only ranked 2nd in Spain. This is worse than the Brook fight against Kotey seriously what is the point in this fight. The guy has only ever beaten one guy with a winning record and even he had won only one of his last six. I thaught Murray moved to Frank to get better fights and even world title shot, but why does fighting this guy mean he gets a world title shot? it doesn't. Murray has been so slow in progressing and im starting to loose interest in him tbh. Anyway on the fight i would be surprised if it lasted 2 rounds

How can the BBBofC sanction this? Robin Smith needs to eff off.
Re: Murray vs .... someone unkown
This bloke must of come cheap, tune up or not this ain't doning Murray no favours whatsoever. This is the kind if fight that drives punters away, another tomato can to pad out a fighers record.
Re: Murray vs .... someone unkown
Number two in Spain! I bet a lot of people would have struggled to name 2 Spanish boxers of all time across weight classes.
Re: Murray vs .... someone unkown
I can only think of 1 and I can't thing of his surname. He fought Oscar De La Hoya and lost a 1 sided points decision back in june 2001
Re: Murray vs .... someone unkown
Castelejo, or whatever. I remember the guy who Thaxton spanked because I put money on the Spaniard, but forget his name.KOMAN wrote:I can only think of 1 and I can't thing of his surname. He fought Oscar De La Hoya and lost a 1 sided points decision back in june 2001

Castillejo. And Uzcudun, the Heavyweight from Louis era who fought a lot of decent guys but rarely beat them, Carrasco and the recent Light Heavyweight with a simililarly Spanish sounding name and I'd really be struggling. 2nd in your division in Spain is something, not too impressive an opponent.KOMAN wrote:I can only think of 1 and I can't thing of his surname. Isn't Kiko Martinez Spanish?
Re: Murray vs .... someone unkown
Manuel Calvo - fought Hamed in his last fight in 2002. Was there, and what a bloody awful fight is was too
Re: Murray vs .... someone unkown
Javier Castillejo? He was a good solid fighter him too, nothing spectacular but a good fighter, think he may still be fighting too, he must be in his 40's by now.KOMAN wrote:I can only think of 1 and I can't thing of his surname. Re: Murray vs .... someone unkown
The fact people can only name about 5 average Spanish fighters shows something about this opponent
