Handy. Came out confidently and pushed Meskry onto the back foot from the off. Broadbent was agressive with a high work rate, looks good but did get tagged a few times himself. Never seemed to bother him though.roadrunner wrote:How Did Terry Broadbent LooK??? That Eddie Meskry Meant To Be Decent. Thought Tough Debut.mickey1975 wrote:I went. Not a bad show.

Terry looked good.He looked like he was loving being a pro and fought very enthusiasticly. He did get caught,as Wake up call said, but they bounced off him.Wake up call wrote:Handy. Re: LEEDS SHOW SAT NIGHT
It was an okay show, lots of small time scum, mainly Sean 'Short fuse' Hughes fans brought alot of bad vibes to the scene. Probably the worse out of the opens shows in a while, in my opinion. Nothing really impressed me on the night! The biggest disapointment was the Luke Robinson v's Luke Osmon fight! And i know i wasnt alone! Osmon didnt protest one bit about it being stopped, in reards to a slight gash above his rigt eye. He knew come the second, most likely third Robinson would take care of buisness. he wanted a negative fight from the outset, grabbing, holding, going in low, thats how the clash of head came about 60secs in...mickey1975 wrote:Terry looked good.He looked like he was loving being a pro and fought very enthusiasticly. He did get caught,as Wake up call said, but they bounced off him.Wake up call wrote:Handy. Re: LEEDS SHOW SAT NIGHT
Sean Hughes boxed first and his fans seemed to disappear after that.I never saw any incidents at all even when they were there,or got any bad vibes, but thats just me.The Robinson fight was just one of those things. As for the rest of the bill,it was pretty evenly matched with Fearn-McKray and Broadbent-Doyle both been 50-50 fights,a lot better than you get on most bills nowadays.wanderingtwin1 wrote:It was an okay show, lots of small time scum, mainly Sean 'Short fuse' Hughes fans brought alot of bad vibes to the scene. Re: LEEDS SHOW SAT NIGHT
there werent any trouble at all, maybe very over enthusiastic because ive been out for a while, but there were no bad vibes whatsoever. It was a good night of entertainment.
Re: LEEDS SHOW SAT NIGHT
i was at this show and never saw or heard any bad vibes from anyone at the venue
on the whole it was one of the least threatning shows ive been to and i was there till the end ps the terry broadbent fight was electric showed no nerves for a debut and was all action if not a bit raw as youd expect for 1st pro fight

Re: LEEDS SHOW SAT NIGHT
I was a bit disappointed with the report of this in today's BN.Two of the fights which were arguably the only ones on the bill which were 50-50(Fearn-McKray and Doyle-Broadbent) and turned out to be close affairs only got the weights and scores recorded.Surely after all the efoorts these and the other lads put in a few lines and an opinion would have been nice.Terry Broadbent was great in his pro debut too and deserved a bit of credit.
Re: LEEDS SHOW SAT NIGHT
Spot on Micky, the writer probably got a free ticket and the least he could do was a few lines for the undercard lads. Ok I appreciate we arn't all hot prospects.mickey1975 wrote:I was a bit disappointed with the report of this in today's BN.Two of the fights which were arguably the only ones on the bill which were 50-50(Fearn-McKray and Doyle-Broadbent) and turned out to be close affairs only got the weights and scores recorded.Surely after all the efoorts these and the other lads put in a few lines and an opinion would have been nice.Terry Broadbent was great in his pro debut too and deserved a bit of credit.

I was limited to a word count so couldn't get too much info in (eight fights in 300 words, it's just not possible). The record keepers insist BN prints at least the weights and scores in.mickey1975 wrote:I was a bit disappointed with the report of this in today's BN.Two of the fights which were arguably the only ones on the bill which were 50-50(Fearn-McKray and Doyle-Broadbent) and turned out to be close affairs only got the weights and scores recorded.Surely after all the efoorts these and the other lads put in a few lines and an opinion would have been nice.Terry Broadbent was great in his pro debut too and deserved a bit of credit.
If I could i'd have done a full report on every fight but BN does not have the space for that.
However, I have done a little extra for the Masters website.
