BURNS v LARYEA - Strange betting patterns
BURNS v LARYEA - Strange betting patterns
Not sure what is going on here but William Hill have just cut Laryea from 10/1 to 3/1 for the fight with Burns.
Hopefully all ok with Ricky as I am sure Billy would not let him fight if not but don't think I have ever seen a stranger sequence of events betting wise for a fight.
You can still get between 9/1 and 12/1 Laryea elsewhere
Burns was 1/50 with Hills and is now backable at 2/9.
WTF is happening there.

I'm just checking betting sites to see if this is achievable.
Re: BURNS v LARYEA - Strange betting patterns
Paddy Power had the 12/1 but looks like they've taken it down.DaveBoyMorrison wrote:Scottrf wrote:£90 on Burns 2/9, £3 on Draw, £8 Laryea 12/1, guaranteed cash?

12/1 at Betfred, allegedly the Africans have been putting a lot of money on Laryea and the move with WillHill is pretty astonishing really, not normal for a title fight on British soil.

It wouldnt take as much as you think to move in Laryea.Even a couple of hundred pounds at a big price would see it cut.iwz678 wrote:12/1 at Betfred, allegedly the Africans have been putting a lot of money on Laryea and the move with WillHill is pretty astonishing really, not normal for a title fight on British soil.

You mean: "12/1 is a great price, it's a competitive fight and you should pay to watch it"?billy nelson wrote:You know the saying fools and there money are easily parted.the only pound the africans getting is a POUNDING from Burns!!!!!!iwz678 wrote:12/1 at Betfred, allegedly the Africans have been putting a lot of money on Laryea and the move with WillHill is pretty astonishing really, not normal for a title fight on British soil.

Hope you`re right, as Burns is a great fella, but that African looked tough as nails when he fought Appelby. He has a good engine and can take a dig, so this is going to the cards in my opinion.billy nelson wrote:You know the saying fools and there money are easily parted.the only pound the africans getting is a POUNDING from Burns!!!!!!iwz678 wrote:12/1 at Betfred, allegedly the Africans have been putting a lot of money on Laryea and the move with WillHill is pretty astonishing really, not normal for a title fight on British soil.
Hopefully cuts won`t play a part in it, but if the African is naughty with his head over the 12 rounds, it might not be as easy as some people think for Burns.
At 12/1 for Lareya, it has to be worth a few quid.
Re: BURNS v LARYEA - Strange betting patterns
This matchup is a joke, this fight symbolises what's wrong with Boxing. We dont see guys in the top 10 or 20 fighting each other for world titles, a guy wins one WBO title and he gets a world title shot instantly as he's in the top 15 of their organization or whatever, absolute rubbish.forcefraser wrote:Hope you`re right, as Burns is a great fella, but that African looked tough as nails when he fought Appelby. Burns is an absolute hero up in Glasgow and outside of curling, he's probably the best thing in Scottish sport at the moment and 12/1 or whatever, the Africans are losing money as there's no chance Laryea will win this fight. Tough yes, but dont we say that about all the Ghanaians and when it comes down to Boxing ability, they are found wanted.

The bookies don't take a lot of money on Boxing generally, if Hills took a couple of hundred quid at 10/1 they'll cut it as a precaution.

2/9 is a cracking price. Laryeas tough as are most ghanians but Burns should handle him with ease. I'd imagine him and Billy have studied the Appleby fight meticulously cant see Laryea beating another Scotsman. Bring it on

2/9 is a shocking price! Burns didn't look great against that Canadian punch bag with a head last time out and the awkward Laryea looked like a handful in defeating Paul Appleby, I know who I'll be having a few cheeky quid on at 8/1.ShadrachSimmo wrote:2/9 is a cracking price. Re: BURNS v LARYEA - Strange betting patterns
Na, Joseph Laryea, who beat Appleby on SFN last year (feels like a couple of weeks ago!)Autobarn wrote:is this anyetei laryea, who we've seen in the commonweath matchups?
