I am obeying the rules of this forum. On the other hand, you and the other Ali acolytes are trying to use verbal intimidation against me in a vain attempt to silence me.
Not even as witty as the original GranB.
If you still insist on posting under this psuedo, please try to incorporate words such as 'shrill' and 'deity'.

Yes, the thread was created by a jackass. No controversy there. These threads are only opened to start sh-t and get attention. But my comment about him being "stopped" still stands; it is common boxing parlance. I would also say that Ali was "stopped" by Holmes. In saying that I'm not accusing Ali of quitting; Dundee was the one demanding that it be stopped. Jerry Quarry was "stopped" by Frazier and Ali; that Quarry clearly wanted to continue doesn't matter. Frazier was stopped; it doesn't imply anything other than the fact that the fight did not go the full 15.
Also, I should have mentioned this earlier, but Pacheco isn't the person who should be cited as a supporter of the theory that Ali loses if Futch doesn't stop it. I had to do a little searching to find this, but in "Muhammad Ali: The Whole Story" Pacheco said "Now what would have happened-many people say-if Frazier had gotten up? Ali would have gotten up and gone out and given him another big whipping. He didn't measure himself to fifteen and that's it. If it went to fifteen and they said 'go one more', he would have gone one more."
Certainly if someone asked for specifics I would give specifics, but in discussing the end result in passing it is common boxing terminology to say that a fighter who didn't make it to the last bell was "stopped." But I don't want to quibble about it; I understand what you're saying and I think you understand what I'm saying.
As for the Pacheco quote, like I said, its all anecdotal evidence; my point was just that Pacheco shouldn't be thought of as someone who thinks that Ali would lose if Futch doesn't pull the plug.
And yes, I didn't intend to sound derogatory about you or about Frazier fans; I re-read that and decided to edit that out before you made your post. The reality is that I would probably consider myself a Frazier fan; earlier today I was thinking about re-watching his first fight with Quarry but didn't get around to it. I consider that the best fight of the 60s, and one or the other of his book cover fights with Ali as the best of the 70s.

He sent Jerry Quarry out for the fifth round against Ken Norton only to get shelled.
Jerry was in no shape to go out there for that round. He got hit with everything but the kitchen sink.
Thank God Johnny Lobianco pulled Quarry out of there because Clancy was obviously not going to.
Im a big Joe Frazier fan. I think Futch made the right call in that fight.
I think he did, just like Angelo Dundee stopped Ali's fight with Holmes to protect Larry from the miracle that Muhammad was planning to lay on him in rounds 11 - 15.
