Who's the best promotor in Australia big shows and small?

Thanks mate you should come to one the shows that I put on or my brother Daniel is fighting Nader Hamdan in march that fight is worth a look hey why is Green fighting at cruiser wieght? Can't he make light heavy ?


They're all Lt heavyweights, he'd have to shed 10 kilo's to make Lt heavy now, so i don't think you'll be seeing Greeny any time soon.
Green is known over seas, and the fight was aired there as well.

Mate i don't get around the country as much as i used to, pretty much ever since i started posting here now that i think about it.

Fox Shows - Grange Old School Boxing

Look at all their shows last year (2010) and barring the November one where I know they were completely knackered after such a long year of shows, their quality top to bottom throughout the year dominates anything else put on throughout Australia.

MainEvent PPV - Again Grange Old School Boxing by far as quality top to bottom, but on the score of PPV sales which rightly/wrongly is what drives it, Green Machine and Boxa do far bigger numbers.

Grange's two PPV's were far better as quality across the card, but it didn't convert into serious PPV sales. Boxa had Mundine (don't even talk about their undercard's, their pathetic!) and Green is much the same, riding on his back, albeit with slightly better undercard than that of Boxa, but both certainly don't have undercard's to match Grange's.

Well in Truth the Grange actually have 2 main events, which make it a little more appealing for true fight fans, but how is Greens cards/undercards pathetic? Please don't come back with Briggs, another example would be nice to see for a change.

Boxa doesn't need mentioning anymore, the boxing and general public know they're finished.

It seems to me that a lot of Fighters will feel diffrently towards Promoters than the Fans will. They see Boxing from a diffrent side of things.
Mark's points are valid, Id rather See Green in with the names he mentioned than Siaca, Briggs etc.

In my opinion the Best Promoter is the one who, Pays the fighters a decent purse, Puts on even match ups, and gives the fans a good show. .
Id rather watch a fightcard of relitivelly novice fighters matched competitively, than watch our best guys against fighters that arn't even close to there level. Its just milking the public out of there cash.

Well said, Ben, the first time I saw Aswin Cubuy fight, he looked decent, he lost a competitive fight and showed a good account of himself, It was a very entertaining fight. I wasn't expecting much after some of the things I'd heard about him, but because he fairly matched, it added to the show.

Likewise, I've seen Paz Viejo put on a good display in a competitive bout because he wasn't over matched to pad someones record.

That promoter you have over in Perth putting on those good shows of late seems to meet your criteria.

My specific words were Boxa's undercards were pathetic, Green's slightly better.

For the record, no, I've never been impressed with Green's undercards. Only my opinion and certainly nowhere near the depth of a Grange undercard.

The biggest promoters are Mundine and Green for sure apart from that i think Jamie Myer puts on best local shows.

Qld promoter Angelo Di Carlo as proved, one doesn't need title fight(s) on the card to put bums on seats......Just guys who are prepared to test themselves.
FOX, which had always requested titles, now see things @ different angle.

Melbourne promoter Peter Maniatis has also gone down that track for a while.

Angelo Hyder paid me $600 to fight Bruce Glovier, over 4 rounds this comment made him call me, his words were how's it going it's Angelo Hyder here the cheap skate, since I only paid you $600 to fight Glovier. I'll make it up to you, I'll give you $6000 to fight Victor Oganov, now you can put on the forum, that Angelo Hyder offered you the most money so here it is, well thats what you should get to fight someone like Oganov, he also said you failed to mention that I flew Glovier from NZ, so he didn't make money on the fight, but Barry Raff used to give me $1200 for 4 rounds, but I was selling heaps of tickets. I would of done the same for Angelo, the difference is I only had 4 days notice for the fight, but I still sold a few tickets. That's the way it works, if you don't sell tickets you wont be put in a fight you are expected to win, boxing is a dead sport in Australia, and the fighters themselves are the promotors

Ty Colman is the young guy your talking about CDL promotions. He is doing a great job promoting WA Boxing. Now Green Machine is doing cards also it is a boost for WA boxing.
Ty is doing a good job promoting WA fighters, Giving guys like Bryant and Dawson a chance to fight regulary. Its a good thing as these guys were struggling to get fights in the past.

Agreed BenK, and RJJ was considered the favourite and a big win for Greene Machine Promotions for luring him over here. He too was a decent opponent, at least until the fight.
