Wlad Vs Del -Boy Cancelled

Wlad's "injury" seems to be taking longer than expected to "heal". I'm not a Doctor but my prognosis is that he'll be ready to fight on July 2nd.

Well personaly I have 100% faith in the medical opinion of Dr. Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt

Dr. Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt, the doctor in charge, is of the opinion that an intensive training period in preparation for a fight in April cannot be realized.

“Considering the current clinical picture, it is difficult to predict a precise time of rehabilitation.
( July 2nd perhaps ? Ed )
The start of a training camp at this time for a fight in April would be too much of a high risk”, explains Müller-Wohlfahrt.

The doctor sounds like a bit of a strange man anyway. "Many of the German doctor's treatments are controversial, including using injections of a substance called Hylart, extracted from the crest of cockerels, which is claimed to help lubricate knee injuries and take away the pain. He has also injected honey or calves' blood into patients."

I'll have to show the wife this, maybe she will be up for some back door action using cockerel crest oil as lube.

Funny how oily, cockerel-juice drinking Klitschko manager Berny Bonty was strongly denying rumours of a withdrawal just a couple of hours ago isn't it ?

Why bullsh*t everybody with this rubbish? We all know this is because of the haye fight so why not be honest and say so. Has del boy been paid off?

Presumably so they can avoid paying him off? It would be breach of contract if he didn't, unfortunately, get injured.

Feel sorry for Del Boy being messed about like this. But let's be honest, the fight we all want to see is now on so it's good news. I can see Haye retiring now in October, he beats Wlad then takes on Vitali before putting his feet up.

May also mean Chisora v Fury for the British title which will be fun. Chisora wins this quite easily.

Any chance of a double knock out in the Haye v Klit fight. Both of these clowns make me sick

Hands being somewhat forced by the retirement talk of Haye. Why doesn't Haye fight him in September as Wlad suggested when he announced the chisora fight.

Because that would mean Haye fighting a non Klit in the meantime and potentially losing his belt, ruining a massive payday. Is the loss of wlad-chisora a blow to boxing? Maybe in the shabby manner of it's execution, but it was a fight everyone outside of Del boys family saw going comfortably and probably painfully one way. If Chisora is the sacrificial lamb in making a fight that 99% of boxing fans want to see, then surely it's a price worth paying.

Wlad might have slipped up against Chisora also - but Wlad was prepared to take the gamble and face Chisora and Haye in September. Why wouldn't Haye consider fighting someone on April and then getting it on in September.

In Haye's case it might have been a potentially better opponent (e.g. Povetkin or Chagaev) and therefore making the fight with Wlad even bigger.

So was Haye not confident of coming through against Povetkin or Chag?

It's the same reason we hear all the time, risk v reward. Would Haye beating Chagaev/Povetkin add any value to the 'superfight'? Would Wlad beating Chisora add any value?

In most people's opinion the answer would be no, so what was the point in either happening

I really hope FW has something to say about this. Chisora would have provided a much better challenge than most people expect. He doesn't have the one punch power of Haye but is a more complete package. It is also not about the money for Chisora. He just wanted that fight. Wladimir tries hard to come across as a gentleman but once again he has shown himself to be dishonourable.

Take two to tango - not sure why Haye is coming out of this smelling of roses.

It's a pity that Chisora has been royally dicked about in all this.

They want to hope Karma doesn't serve up a genuine injury in the run up.

Bad back, bad stomach - bad for boxing.

Chisora had no business having a shot at the title anyway. Seems clear the Klitschkos were just stringing him along until a Haye fight could get made and I'm sure allegedly knew that as well.

Seriously? In what way is Chisora a 'more complete' package than a two-weight world champion? Not only was Haye a clearly better amateur boxer than Chisora, he is also miles ahead of him as a pro. If the two ever sparred, I guarantee Chisora wouldn't land a shot.

Also, are people really feeling sorry for Chisora because he was tossed to the kerb? Purlease. Do we want this sport to stay alive, or what? Boxing needs fights like Haye-Klitschko to keep its head above water. Who gives a shit about Chisora? It's like saying you'd rather Manchester United faced Plymouth Argyle than Chelsea. Doesn't make sense. Not to mention, Chisora is about as unlikeable as any boxer can get.

I recall Haye seemed to suffer an injury himself a few years back...

The fact that this is cancelled means we will probably get the fight we have all hoped for.
