Hatton is going to have to do a lot more than the occaionsal flurry of light blows to win this fight.

RD 9: 10-9 Alvarez (89-81) Hatton looked better early parts of round but Alvarez had a good last minute- Magic was hanging on.

Hatton doesn't seem to have enoughg juice in his punches to trouble Canelo.

I'm not too keen on Alvarez either. No one is going to hand it to him for ages. "Carefully matched" will continue to be a description of his fights for some time.

Credit to Hatton for lasting in there

RD 12: 10-9 Alvarez (119-108) Whilst a near whitewash (point deducted aside) BIG props to Hatton for lasting the distance- not many of us expected that.

As for Canelo, as many others have said, will have to matched carefully for a while (showed a tendency to get hit too much albeit Hatton's punches couldn't hurt him)

Agreed... Hell even Ricky Hatton would have been proud of taking the barrage of punches that Matt has taken and still be standing tall from it.

Unbelievably I got 10/11 at Boylesports. I placed it literally the day after the fight was announced though. I thought Xmas had come early! Odds have tumbled hugely now though.
Wow, I would have remortgaged the house...! :box:
lucky you didn't! Can't imagine what the missus would have said when you broke the news..
