At last....
The thing I truly love about this fight is IF Haye connects on Wlads chin with a clean right hand he will shake like a tree in the wind... Anything can happen then.

I could be wrong.......But i think this will be quite a easy fight for David....Vlad is so scared of been KO'd Haye can dummy and feight all night and win wide on points or catch him and KO him....The other brother will be the harder fight
Re: Haye-Klitschko fight is on. Who wins?
I will probably convince myself that Haye can do it by the time the fight comes around, but right now I feel he won't.
As much as I hate his style, if you were Wladimir, in his form, do you reckon you would even consider you could lose to Haye?

Haye wont do that again , he said on ringside that maybe he should have tested valuevs chin earlier.Gooner123 wrote:I'm expecting a similar performance from David Haye to the Valuev fight, so I've gone for Haye on points. However I hope I'm wrong and Haye wants to retire with a bang!
First proper test at heavy weight against a guy who's never been stopped, he probably didnt have full confidence in his punch power at hw. He sure does now.
Re: Haye-Klitschko fight is on. Who wins?
I'm not surprised that so many people here think Wlad will be an easier fight than Fragomeni, Mormeck, Valuev, Ruiz, etc
Also seems that Wlad is the only one with chin issues now...

Re: Haye-Klitschko fight is on. Who wins?
For me its a similar senario as the Harrison fight, haye keeping out of range waiting for an opening then slipping the jab getting in close and unloading a big punch followed by a barrage of follow up punches.
Yes wlads jab is gong to be harder to get past but, wlad has some similarities to harrison, he's cautious, doesnt like being under pressure, pretty much the same size, same type of reach, and same type of chin.
Harrison is basically a poor mans wlad. I expect haye to come in the same weight as he did against harrison and look for one opening that he will exploit and finish the fight there and then.

oh my god are you guys serious, yall really thing haye has a chance, everyone of yall must be from the UK. haye has no chance, he will throw his flurries with speed and accuracy and wear out and have no power after 3, then wlad will knock the coward out. and there is no chance haye makes it outside the 2nd with the other brother.
if you seriouslt think hay has a chance at winning, put down the alcohol, sit in a quiet closet and get your mind right.

I find it amusing that hayes being written off as having a punchers chance by some people - unified cruiser champion and heavyweight world champion, with an 88.46% ko ratio, they always only have a punchers chance
Re: Haye-Klitschko fight is on. Who wins?
First things first, why are you calling a profressonal boxer a coward? Seriously? No boxer that laces up the gloves and goes into the ring deserves that. It is an opinon forum and if you think Haye will get beat that's fair enuff and you have every right to say that but keep your 'coward' opinons to yourself.thunderstruck wrote:oh my god are you guys serious, yall really thing haye has a chance, everyone of yall must be from the UK. haye has no chance, he will throw his flurries with speed and accuracy and wear out and have no power after 3, then wlad will knock the coward out. and there is no chance haye makes it outside the 2nd with the other brother.

Alot of posters (mainly from across the pond) were giving Peter, Briggs and *coughs* fatboy Arreola a chance, as apparently, they are punchers. However, Haye has a punch and 10x their speed, but according to the same people, has no chance. Re: Haye-Klitschko fight is on. Who wins?
Would not be completely shocked if Haye pulls off the upset via stoppage, as Wlad has been gunshy/shakey in the past. However my gut says Wlad is going to dismante Haye, in style.
Doubt that Haye is the more accurate, he tends to get excited and wing punches away whereas Wlad is conservative often jabbing his opponents to a slow before unloading the big right which rarely misses. I think Wlad/Steward will start in 2nd gear against a fighter like Haye, if Haye starts slow as he did vs Harrison he will be picked apart.
Haye has speed on his side and usually I'd side with that but I think Wlad has everything else covered, including power and ringsmarts. I reckon there's a good chance we are going to see a mismatch unfold. The hype/build up will be better than the fight itself.

Re: Haye-Klitschko fight is on. Who wins?
my fear from Haye's perspective would be that Wlad will take cantre-ring and Haye will end up using an awful lot of the ring/ his energy, and even while not much is happening he will be the one getting tired.
Re: Haye-Klitschko fight is on. Who wins?
Klitschko's main asset will be his jab. Haye knows this so his strategy will focus on taking his jab away. I think his strategy will revolve around feints/threats to make Wlad think he is about to unload, draw the jab and slip it to get inside to land his powershots. This will make it a very cagey opening to the fight, as Haye's often are (and Wlad's almost always are) when he is fearful of the other guy's power; Enzo, Harrison etc. The fight centres around range control. Klitschko controls distance well with a powerful jab and large reach, with short shots inside (usually the overhand right) to punish you if you rush in carelessly, or clinching.
This clinching may be a large part of Wlad's gameplan. As the larger man he may try to wear Haye down by holding, as Haye's stamina is questioned, rightly or wrongly after gassing against Thompson so long ago. His fights have rarely gone far so it's hard to assess whether his stamina has improved. I can't see this being too important; Haye landed so many powershots against Thompson it was a miracle he was standing. The lateral movement will tire him but he will be in condition and wont have an effect unless he gets caught too often.
It's highly likely there will be a knockdown; body have questionable resistance and good power. Make no mistake, Haye has Heavyweight power, Ruiz has rarely been down in his career and Haye put him on his arse moving backward, and even staggered man mountain Valuev. However, Haye has shown me he is better able to cope with adversity. Against Mormeck he got tagged, but sensibly took a knee and regained his composure. Against Barrett he started sloppy and was put down but got back up to win. Contrast to Wlad who doesn't seem able to clear his head after getting knocked down, and Haye is the better finisher.
A jab is a lot more effective against a static target, as so many of Wladimir's opponents have been. But if Haye gets caught, you can expect the sledgehammer of a straight right following it. The fight will be more open than the bigger guy would like, and I can see him in trouble at times. But I can see his power making Haye wary enough that the opportunities aren't regular enough for Haye to earn a decision, and pick Wlad to be standing at the final bell. Ask me tomorrow I may change my mind though.

Re: Haye-Klitschko fight is on. Who wins?
I see this as a very easy fight for Klitschcko, who could and will probably drop Haye early even with his jab.
I see Wlad finishing Haye in 2 with the old postmans knock.

Re: Haye-Klitschko fight is on. Who wins?
Something about the timing of this being spot on for Haye. Just entering peak years (for a Heavyweight), Wlad showing a few signs of decline and hasn't really had a tough fight for a long time now, it's hard to just pull that out of the bag when you need it. If Haye does get to the stage where Wlad needs to go to a dark place he may find it isn't there - if it ever was, he has always been terrified of getting chinned.
Really is a 50/50, I'll go for Haye in 7 if you're giving me a free bet but I wouldn't be putting my own wedge on the outcome.
As the fight draws closer we'll see all the usual posts, many from our US based WWE fans; "yall talking shit" "Haye is a chump/coward" and equally disparaging remarks from others about Wlad but I'm going to try not to get caught up in all that like I used to back in the Lennox days. It's a great fight, really exciting, something to look forward to in the summer and first genuine crackling Heavyweight title fight in 6/7 years for me - and involving a Brit again! Fantastic!

Re: Haye-Klitschko fight is on. Who wins?
Think the fight definitely ends inside schedule, and am leaning towards haye. He brings power and handspeed wlad has yet to encounter. However home advantage could be significant, and the haye chin ain't made of marble. He's been over before facing lesser punchers, so it could be a case of who lands first. No doubt it's a fascinating, fascinating fight and I'm hopeful it comes off this time.

Re: Haye-Klitschko fight is on. Who wins?
Wlad might have a vunerable chin, but it's a pretty good chin compared to Haye's.
Klit can get put over by a massive shot maybe, but Haye can get knocked dizzy by pretty much any heavyweight shot from a half decent puncher - jab included.
No way does Wlad get sent bandy legged by a blown up super middle ( Mock ) - just NO WAY. And DH was even knocked over by Monte Barrett.
I've no doubt Haye can hurt Wlad, but he's going to have to be so cautious while trying to do so, and get past that massive jab too ( which will hurt him if it lands ). I'm pretty sure Wlad wins this - he's shown lately that he might be as good as he's going to get right now.
But it's going to be a fantastic build up to this fight, thank god it's been made.

Re: Haye-Klitschko fight is on. Who wins?
I've got full confidence that Haye can win this fight and its a case of him making Wladimirs jab ineffective which will be easier said than done but I believe Haye's movement, speed and reflexes can make it frustrating for Wladimir. Haye is going to have to time his raids to perfection and not leave himself off balance and open, as he has done in the past.
Neither has a solid chin so this could well be over quickly.

Can't see him going allout guns blazing - though would be spectacular to watch.MightyWarrior wrote:Haye was terrified of getting close to Valuev, who doesn't really pack a punch, but he's going to be jumping all over Wlad, who can punch ?
Didn't Haye injure his hand early against Valuev and that kind of explains the lack of action.
Re: Haye-Klitschko fight is on. Who wins?
Your point is valid, however consider Valuev had never been stopped, lost one fight on a tight decision and is massive.MightyWarrior wrote:Haye was terrified of getting close to Valuev, who doesn't really pack a punch, but he's going to be jumping all over Wlad, who can punch ?
Harrision is massive, but fights scared and has lost fights and been KO'd.
Wlad is equally as large, has lost fights, all by KO /TKO. Like Audley, fights defensive, almost fightened although not to the extent Audley does. So it makes sense for Haye to be careful, which I think he will, panic / scare Wlad for awhile and then nail him, hard and often.
We shall see, though
