Having been through the same experience as Howard, my 17 year old suffered a similar injury in a hit and run and had to receive a craniotomy. I know what Howard is going through and yet I could not begin to explain the feeling of desolation and helplessness that seeing your child in this position brings.

Howard, my heart goes out to you and yours and I wish your son a speedy recovery. My boy made a full and total recovery (though his lifelong dream of joining the army was quashed). It took time but he got there. I know it's not much by way of comfort but have hope. You have all our best wishes.

Ricky is out of the critical stage but still in intensive care. He is still unable to move the right side of his body. He had major surgery which was a success and things are looking very positive, according to Howard.

Not checking the threads as much as usual as I'm in the States but best wishes to Ricky, Howard and the whole family. Howard's a top guy and I'm keeping everything crossed for a full recovery.

Update - Ricky is now out of intensive care and there's even a possibility of him being moved to Doncaster Hospital (his home town) which has to be a good sign. :TU:
