Audley calls out Del or Tyson

Post by earsjohn »

Good news for fans of the near legendary Olympic Gold Medallist. He's targeting either UK Champ Dereck Chisora or English Champ Tyson Fury for his comeback.

Thoughts?

I'm torn myself. While Audley has let me down once too often, it'd be a good scalp for either of the youngsters. Is he still with Hearn? Would Henessey or Warren want to put him on a card?

"Tell you what the show can be called victory or retirement". Good idea. Or how about "one last payday". Or even "I'm now irrelevant and froze, completely, on the biggest night of my life". All possible show titles have some merit.

Both Fury and Del Boy will whip Audley into a whimpering mess. I will watch of course, car crashes tend to be compelling viewing.

I imagine old Audley will end up with the snot being knocked out of his nose again.

Fury v Audley would be a good fight. Lots of mouth, two tall giants.

I actually think this would be a cracker.

As Captain Hook will verify of course Harrison is now "At world-level" and will therefore be way above Fury.

For Audley v Fury, I prefer "All Hype, No Hope".

Maybe Chisora v Audley could be sold as "Del Boy and the Plonker"?

Nobody really wants to see Audley over here anymore. If he wants to fight on, he needs to forget about the UK, too many people feel he ripped them off.

But, he still holds a one armed win over Michael Sprott in the fight just before Haye, which is better than anything Chisora or Fury has achieved. Neither fight is a full gone conclusion just because Harrison froze and lost to Haye (who is leagues ahead of Chisora and Fury)

If it was on SKY, which I pay for anyway, I would watch it to follow the development of Fury or Chisora. I would never pay to see Audley again though - one person can only get so many "last chances".

I think Fury would beat Audley up rather easily. I have turned into a 'hater' in a very short space of time - 8 minutes it took to be precise. :witzend:

Nothing suggest to me that Fury or Del are Chinny - so can only see the youngsters winning. Chisora is a small heavyweight and hasn't really fought a monster before - so that one would appeal more - but I can only see Del Boy winning.

If I remember rightly the BBBoC implied that Harrison will not be allowed to fight for the British title until he proves himself following his inept display - so he will probably need Fury first (which he will lose too).

I think I would even give him more of a chance in a rematch with Haye than against Fury (not that I am anticipating great things from Fury).

As pitiful as he was vs Haye, there's an enormous gulf between Haye and the likes of Fury and Chisora. Just because Harrison lost to Haye does not automatically mean either of them will beat him, let alone "whip him into a whimpering mess". It would be a big step up for either, especially Fury.

Where is the logic in that post??

Hold on you had Calzaghe v Kessler as a draw.

Logic in it is that Fury is 6 foot 9 and seems to have a good chin - simple really. Audley wouldn't even have a punchers chance vs Fury. Audley has relied on people coming in with poor defences and catch them on the way in. Fury doesn't need to do that, he can dictate the fight on the outside.

Styles makes fights and all that.

I would give Steve Murray more of a chance against Amir Khan than I would say John Murray.... doesn't mean I think John Murray is better or beats Khan - style makes fights. Haye is not perfect, he makes mistakes and he has weaknesses. Fury is not perfect, he makes mistakes and has weaknesses - just his weaknesses are not his whiskers.

And saying I give so and so more of a chance, doesn't mean to say I tip them to win. There was no logic in how Salem gave JC one of his toughest defences - Salem was one of JC's worst opponents, but stylistically gave him more problems than better fighters like Lacy, Veit and the no vowels one.

You can always press the ignore button if my posts on the fight game upset you so much.

I think that Chisora would beat Audley quite easily. Del boy would get stuck into him and stay on top of him until he drops or its waved off. When Audley is attacked in this fashion, doesn't throw anything back. I actually think Sam Sexton would be a closer match for Audley, but think Aud would lose that too. The jury is still out on Fury but short of ko'ing himself, I think he'd win in a stinker.

I agree there is a gulf between Haye and Chisora, but I'd also say there is a huge gulf between Chisora and Audley.

Is there any evidence that nobody wants to watch Harrison anymore?

His last fight was a big success and I think there would be a lot of interest in any other fights he has with other British heavyweights.
