IT'S FINALLY ON - FURY vs. CHISORA
Purse bids called for, contest to take place by end of July
The British Boxing board have today announced that British Heavyweight mandatory challenger Tyson Fury will finally get his chance to come face to face in the ring with current champion Dereck Chisora for the prestigious title.
The Stewards have decided to put the contest out for purse bids, which are to be submitted to the British Boxing Board’s Head Office by 12.00noon on Wednesday, 13th April 2011, the contest has to take place by the end of July 2011.
Tyson said “If he doesn’t finally get stripped of his title by the Southern Area board for his run in with the law last year it won’t matter, I’m going to strip the title away from him along with the zero on his record.”
“Can’t wait for this fight, it’s been a long time in the making, but one thing is for sure, it’s not going to take me as long to finish him off, expect another brutal knock out delivered from this 22 year old.” added Fury.

Should be a cracker, nice to see our plethora of prospects facing each other and the British HW gatekeepers.
If pushed I'd be picking Del Boy to win, but I don't beleive we've seen the best of Tyson yet

Excellent, should be a cracking fight. I fancy Chisora to win it.

Re: IT'S FINALLY ON - FURY vs. CHISORA
Cant see it happening , but if it does i really dont know who would win , real 50/50 bout
Re: IT'S FINALLY ON - FURY vs. CHISORA
Should be a great fight Chisora has had quite alot of exposure so should generate some interest too, maybe put it a week either side of the Haye fight when interest in heavyweight division is high.
I think Chisora wins this but i havent really seem much of Fury so i cant comment but i think Chisora could go quite far so ill back him great fight though

Re: IT'S FINALLY ON - FURY vs. CHISORA
great domestic hw match up if it happens, chisora late stoppage/points
Re: IT'S FINALLY ON - FURY vs. CHISORA
There're some excellent domestic fights to look forward to. Hope this season's as good as the last. Don't know who to pick from this; Chisora is mobile for a big man and keeps it strong late on. The last Mcdermott win put Fury in a good light. I read the recent interview in Boxing Monthly with Tyson Fury; before hand I'd decided he was a bit full of himself and a bit of a dick; in that interview he came across really well, not at all unlikable.

They can both come across as pillocks but a lot of it is show. Doesn't endear them to fans though, and neither of them will be on the front of Men's Health magazine anytime soon!
...I'd take Chisora to win this, and will happily eat humble pie if Fury wins. But as someone said previously, fighters who start their careers fat and lazy tend to end their careers fat and lazy.
Fury needs to seriously put the work in if he's to achieve the goals he has set for himself. He seems to be doing so with Steward, so we'll see.
Chisora on points.

i think chisora may struggle with tall, long-reach fighters with a good jab. fury fits the bill so i'll take him to win on points

Can't wait - would be awesome at York Hall but can see it being at Wembley / Excel as I reckon tickets would go for this!

I have to say I didn't think Tyson would beat McDermott but he did (eventually). I have the same feeling here so he may prove me wrong again.. Right where's that fence I'm gonna park my arse on it 8)

Good news, and a much better matchup than Wlad v Chisora.

Really good domestic match up, the Heavyweight scene is actually looking really good domestically. As for the fight I see Chisora winning stopping Fury late

Looking forward to this one. 8)
I'll be rooting for Fury, but my head tells me that Chisora is the favourite.

I think Chisora wins relatively comfortably. He's better in every department.

Derek Chisora won his ABA title in the absence of David Price and when Tyson Fury was legally too young to enter.

Re: IT'S FINALLY ON - FURY vs. CHISORA
In fact I think it was Mighty Joe Young who outdid Price to win his title...... I could be wrong though...... I know they fought for sure in the quarter finals of 2002 when Matthew Grainger won his 2nd title.
Re: IT'S FINALLY ON - FURY vs. CHISORA
A purse bid is no guarantee its finally on
I think Fury should have held off a fight or two for this. He's improving with Steward and would have been better off taking more time with him first.
That said, if it does happen - good fight.

Re: IT'S FINALLY ON - FURY vs. CHISORA
Fury's got all the tools to do a job on Chisora, but he needs to start taking himself a bit more seriously training and coach wise. No disrespect to his uncle, but he needs a world class trainer to progress. Yes, he's done some stuff with Manny Steward, but I don't think this is a full time arrangement, and I reckon he needs someone serious who can train a bit of pace into him. He should give Jimmy Tibbs a bell.

Re: IT'S FINALLY ON - FURY vs. CHISORA
If Fury comes in good shape, i really fancy him in this. Works the body pretty well and seems as if he holds a decent punch, can see him wearing Chisora down with either a late stoppage or close points win.
Re: IT'S FINALLY ON - FURY vs. CHISORA
Cracking British fight. Worthy of the British Heavyweight Championship.
Well done to both fighters and Mr Warren for making it.
At last a heavyweight fight worth watching.
