Burns' opponent after Laryea will have to be bloody amazing if Burns is to have a hope of becoming Scotland's best ever boxer in two fights.

Bit weird, Morrison getting on his high horse like that, and disrespecting Ricky's trainer. It's just the usual boxing BS that Nelson's coming out with, no one takes it seriously do they, just a roll of the eyes and shake of the head covers it -

No real need for an "I, Alex Morrison..." address to the nation.

I think that may be the problem, Nelson is notorious for talking bulls**t within scottish circles, I think Morrison feels embarressed by it.

If it makes Nelson think a bit more before he spouts out more crap like that in the future, then it will be a good thing that Morrison said something.

Its very odd timing, there must be something else to this as well. You would have thought a quiet word would have sufficed.

Maybe so, but I still didn't expect a public slating by Burns manager on the eve of his world title defence.

I think that was a good sensible statement from Alex morrison, Ricky is nowhere near the best Scotland have ever had although he has improved and his a worthy WBO champion.
Good luck to him

Exactly!

Whats wrong with a trainer bigging up his charge? Very few were saying anything positive about Burns world title aspirations prior to winning the title. Let his trainer show confidence in him and bring pride to the lad and Scotland.
