OK, they are good for the fans to turn up and watch.
But, take the light-heavyweight one back in January.
That gave us Billy Slate who was a two fight novice, out of action in over a year.
He fought Jack Morris, also out of the ring for over a year, and he could probably make light-middleweight if he trained down.
Why were they even there?
In the same competition we had Tony Dodson and Travis Dickinson.
Would the BBBC have sanctioned bouts between Slate or Matthews against either of these two?
It is only three rounds, but a boxer can still get seriously hurt in that time.
This one ended in total farce when both Matthews and Dodson had to withdraw with injuries, leaving Sam Couzens to get to the final, and a nice payday, without throwing a punch.
I'm a light-heavyweight! I could have done that!
In the next one we get the returning Robin Reid and, even more bizarrely, Adrian Dodson.
As long as Tony Quigley doesn't get cut he is laughing all the way to the bank.
Call me a party pooper, but one of these could end in disaster
