I do believe there's a set minimum per fight, but I don't know what it is now.

Jamie McDonnell is a plasterer
Josh Wale is a window cleaner
Craig Lyon works in a window factory I believe
John Watson is a sparky
Michael Sprott is a mechanic
Ross Burkinshaw is in the army.
Mark Krence was a butcher (not sure if he still is)
Bob Ajisafe is a student
Jez Wilson is a fireman
Ricky Burns works in a sports shop
Denton Vassell works in a bank
It's par for the course. Probably 90% or more of boxers have another job. But if Audley Harrison fights one, it's "hahaha Audley lost to a taxi driver" etc

Hey Johnny, hope you're well. I'm a Northern Monkey, what's 'Pie and Mash'? Is it a meat pie and mashed taties? Not been a dick, is it like a fish and chip shop?

Pie & mash mate is what it says on the tin. Mince beef pie, mashed pots covered in a parsley source. Straight forward but handsome

I always like to go to a pie and mash shop when i go to London.

quite funny when i went to one in Elephant and Castle, this is what i watched.

Tourist "Hello what pies do you do?"

Pie Man "Meat pies"

Tourist "yes, but what sort of meat"

Pie Man "Just meat that goes into pies"

Tourist "Ok, i'll have 1 pie and 1 mash, whats in the liquer?"

Pie Man "You don't want to know, £3 please"

Yes I go with that too. Really, its not the players fault they get paid silly money . If the bosses didn't pay the money , footballers wouldn't get it. If allegedly wanted to pay me a million a fight in a four rounder, though its silly money, id bite he's hand off. It's a short career & many ballers & boxers for that matter won't end up doing rocket surgery!

418a Leytonstone High Road Johnny, you might know it - My fave Pie and Mash by a country mile. The pies have a dark, crispy lid and squirt gravy and grease into the liquor. They are indeed handsome. If you haven't been, I can thoroughly recommend it.

Where's your one? I'll pop in and check it out.

What footballers and boxers are paid is a matter of supply and demand, the "invisible hand" of the market. You could say nurses and teachers "shud" get paid more than, say, bankers, but they don't for the exact same reason. Not saying it's fair, but that's how it is.
When I want to learn anything about the socio-economic and geo-political realities of the world, I look to "superheavy" to teach me. I'm not saying it's fair, it's just the way it is. Or maybe that would be a "fallacy of composition". I'm sure the economics expert that is "superheavy" will let you all know what that means. :geek2:
