Taylor at the time Chavez fought him was an undefeated p4p fighter. Only Leonard in the above ranking MAY have been a p4per coming off a loss and controversial win over Duran some would never credit him for, and Tommy never beat Leonard.

Restricting Chavez to Taylor ignores JL Ramirez, Camacho, and Pea whom Duva held back from Chavez for several years after the ruination of Taylor's career at the hands of Chavez. Also a cast of international tough guys Chavez beat in their day in Haugen, Rueban Castillo, Rocky Lockridge, Terrance Ali, Crazy Uncle Roger, Juan Laporte, Edwin Rosario, Johnny Duplesses, Kyung Duk Ahn as JCC also obliterated many an undefeated record.

Love Hearns to death but he never, ever dominated a division, not even close whereas Chavez dominates superfeather, lightweight and jrwelt for 8 yrs with a legendary undefeated record. JCC was 18th in Ring's 2002 greatest 80 modern era fighters, Hearns 67th.

Sad to see you still on the deck.

Here is mine:
Tommy Hearns
Roy Jones JR.
Julio Cesar Chavez
James Toney
Hector Camacho

Camacho was a good fighter and he would have done well in any era, but he just wasn't at the same level of the fab 4, as they have started being called recently. :TU:

Chavez
Jones
Hearns
Toney
Camacho

Chavez: Utterly dominated 3 weight classes and swept out virtually everyone in them, robbing them all of becoming anywhere near his stature except Camacho (whom he battered), Taylor (whom he battered) and Whitaker (whom he faltered against as his skills were eroding). Reigned as the P4P #1 for several years.

Jones: Similar to Chavez made most of his contemporaries look ordinary, largely to his own detriment because it allowed people to criticize all of his mandatories after the fact because he beat them so effortlessly, all the way up to HW where he beat a prime Ruiz, a guy who other Heavyweights all had nightmares against because of his style save Tua when he was young and Haye when he was old. Reigned as the P4P #1 for several years.

Hearns: Gets points for excelling in a glamorous time period but faltered a few times along the way (Leonard, Hagler, Barkley). Power and skills made most opponents' abilities a total non-issue until MW where he hit a bit of a wall in terms of simply vaporizing everyone.

Toney: Very inconsistent given his talent level because he was so damn lazy, he simply relied on his intelligence and skillset while often neglecting his health while draining and conditioning. He was brilliant, but his achievements absoulutely don't match his talent level.

Camacho: Umm.... yeah...
