Not a great fight, Burns was looking for the KO early so was a bitty sloppy IMO and his right hand was poor tonight he slapped and winged it a bitty if he threw it straighter he would of had far more success. O well hopefully he gets a unification fight now! I can see Warren sticking Laryea in with Walsh next
i've seldom seen ricky throw a really good right hand.

good jab, good body punches and really good combinations at times but not got a knockout right hand. it looks very "slappy" at times
it surprizes me as he is big and strong for the wieght just not a destructive puncher
Correct - would like to see him fight his mandatory now (blown up featherweights and commonwealth title contenders) arent doing it for me!
I said after fighting martinez, he had beaten the no1 in the world, he had earned himself a couple easy defences, possibly decent paying domestic paydays, to let him settle into being the champion.

he's had that now, I totally agree, send him in with the mandatory challenger, then hopefully after that look for a unification to see if he can replictae that martinez performance against another propper top name!

Well a dodgy stoppage, but Simmons looked good to me. Lots of shots variety.

Looked a bit dodgy to me too, was just getting into that too and Simmons was really laying into him.

If they are going to have Burns defend his WBO title against rubbish opposition they should at least have a decent undercard.

This is why i never bet on fights involving unknown African opponents. Sometimes they are hard as nails despite their record, other times they get stopped for weird reasons.

What a totally pants card that was.

The highlight was seeing Naz's girth occupying three chairs at ringside.

It really was crap.

It was the weakest Sky boxing card of the new season in my opinion. Even weaker than the Gavin vs Lomax show.

Warren needs to be made to put on better main events with better undercards, because his shows have been weak recently.

Very poor show tonight, I wasn't looking forward to it beforehand and it didn't change my mind upon watching it! I didn't give Laryea a round, I thought the Sky commentators were trying to sell Laryea as something hald useful when in my eyes he was pretty useless. Burns every round til the stoppage on my card, even the round s where he did less, Laryea just didn't do very much clean, effective work. Too gangling, makes me think there must have been something badly wrong with Appleby or maybe he just isn't anywhere near as good as we thought.

probably is harder than it looks.....but this guy really is poor. About time Sky told Warren to get Michael Pass back.

I guess people aren't as stupid as FW thinks they are. Give Burns a real live opponent and people would have probably gone to it.

Majority of the people there only go for the night out.
I organised a 15 seater bus and maybe 12 people on it honestly havent got the slightest clue whats happening.
One of them actually said "has Stephen Degale been on yet?"
Lol.
£50 is robbery. Fair enough in a smaller venue when tbey have still got costs to cover but a big venue like that should be £35 for the basic seats.
Atmosphere was shite aswell.

I heard there was an entertaining wee skin headed guy running about with a blow up Boxer Doll punching people with it .

Agree. I used to go to that venue to watch Scott Harrison and it was packed to the rafters. Thats because he was usually fighting decent guys. FW must think everyone up there is a mug putting on a card like that and charging 50 for the cheapest seat. It looked like there was about 50 people there on the tv. No atmosphere at all!

i used to go it was

Scott Harrison world title fight
Alex Arthur British title
Kevin Mcintyre ( my bro so had intrest )

30 bucks good value for money

i know prices go up over the years but 50 for a boxing show is steep for "Working class" people

Warren is holding a lot back for his PPV cards. At least we have the Klitschko - Solis fight following on from the Walsh fight next weekend.

The arena last night night didn't feel busy from watching it on TV.
