Horrific card. No point DeGale fighting that guy. Laryea was never worthy. Simply horrendous. And what's with the large team? I'd rather have shite commentary/analysis with more decent cards, other than the other way around. Bob Mee and Rawling should be speaking, Nelson should be beheaded, Watt needs to resign, Clark, I dunno what he's about. Too many, too naff. Smith, get your napper OFF the tele, son. You look like you have AIDS. Plus, he's a twat when speaking. At one point, I though Nelson and Smith had been engaged in homosexual activity - talk about DEEP eye-contact.

Hahaha beautifully put Dioufy! Ever since Smith's taken over Smith's made sure Nelson's by his side in all the big interviews and shows. Romance in the air?

DeGale fighting a bum as chief support for a world title fight? What a bloody farce.

True.

I am still rather peeved at how crap it all was, what a load of shite.

It's why I cancelled my Sky subs earlier this year, Horsey. Horrific. I feel like a 15-year-old trapped in a room with Randy Berlusconi when watching that c*nts cards. No doubt that prick is saving up all the half-decent fights for PPV. Also, who the fornicate is Murray fighting?

Jeez.

Not a great fight, Burns was looking for the KO early so was a bitty sloppy IMO and his right hand was poor tonight he slapped and winged it a bitty if he threw it straighter he would of had far more success. O well hopefully he gets a unification fight now! I can see Warren sticking Laryea in with Walsh next
i've seldom seen ricky throw a really good right hand.

good jab, good body punches and really good combinations at times but not got a knockout right hand. it looks very "slappy" at times

it surprizes me as he is big and strong for the wieght just not a destructive puncher
his jab and body punching have been impressive of recent, and he deserves his world title. but ricky seems to have very poor coordination in the right hand. it's so bad it's like he has to count to five and take a deep breath before throwing it. someone with a great left hook could really punish him when eh throws the "straight right" and right uppercut.

so this wasn't the "bruising" encounter, the thriller that has been reported on some websites?

I don't think Laryea hurt his hand, he just didn't look interested after round 5.

I give Burns all the rounds except one. :TU:

Thriller? This was honestly my first live fight of 2011 and I turned it over after 3 rounds. The outcome was bleeding obvious.

haha. be fair to the matchmaking, though.

had it not been for Larea throwing a spanner in the works, we would have been given the huge world title match of Appleby - Burns. when you think of how long Appleby has waited for a world title shot, and the countless times he's won eliminators, you can see why the oh-so-uncynical matchmakers behind the Burns camp were giving him a final eliminator against the dangerous teak-tough African from the boxing production line in Accra, Ghana.

you lot have saved me a few quid, as i was foaming to buy the DVD!

after some of the stuff i've read, leading me to believe it was a mini classic/thrilling encounter, FW must own half of the world's media.

or maybe i've just inherited my dad's paranoia.
