Though he might be disqualified, on the grounds that he was occasionally competent. Anyway...

Brothers!

The time has come to band together! Unite! Stand shoulder-to-shoulder & say: "YES! There was a time when Jeremy Williams was my favourite fighter! YES! I thought Dannell Nicholson was going to win a heavyweight title! YES! The Klitsckos might bore the fornicate out of me, but I once sat through an entire Alex Zolkin fight! I probably even thought Jimmy Thunder was "quite good, actually" for about five minutes circa 1995!"

No more shall we hide in the shadows!

No more shall we be discriminated against!

In unity, there is strength!

It does look a little like him.

He was a big fella, god knows how he even made 175. Well I do, hard work and dedication. His first fight with Moorer, he just takes huge punches and sneers back. He had one of those 80s haircuts where it looked like all his hair had migrated to the bottom of his neck.

Alex Zolkin! Still waiting for his rubber match to conclude the epic with Tony Tubbs (pictured above).

How could we forget this guy

Not American, not sure what haircut he had or if he ever smoked crack, but with a name like his it doesn't matter.

Where were you on the 25th August 1985?

This thread's been mint.

If anyone does take up my suggestion & make a "So Many Soldiers..." tribute video, can we please use the Transworld Sport theme music from the early 90s, as this is where I saw most of these fellas fight (inbetween scouring the back pages of The Ring & Boxing Monthly to see if Mike The Bounty Hunter had beaten someone up).

There was a thread on the old bbc website years ago, his name cropped up again and again. He fought a guy called Sam Sithole.

Some of the African fighters have the most incredible fighting names. Bonyongo Destroyer, Black Tiger, King Motsi, Hisman 'Flash' Chisango, Captain Cleopas Marvel, Kid Power, Rocky diamond, tiger Wilson, Alex Disaster Mpofu etc etc.

Keith Allan Bradford sounds like his agent was being lazy that day - We need a name son...hmm, *randomly flips open phone book*...what about this?: Keith Allan, Bradford.

Proud Kilimanjaro is fairly well known here. I think Malpass fought him (you post here, right?).

Does Chuck Gardner deserve a mention ? After he spectacularly collapsed on cue inside a minute against Frank Bruno, FWarren commented "I think my gardener could have done better."

Or James Holly ( flattened inside a round by every 80's heavyweight you can think of ) who was optimistically brought over here to take on Michael Bentt. After his usual one round swan dive - the December issue of Boxing News ran a picture under the headline "Christmas Turkey"

Also dont forget to pay tribute to the Heavyweights that never got there; and not mentioned previously on this thread.

Jeremy Williams, Lawrence Clay Bey, Obed Sullivan, David Izon, Ahmed Adbin, Terrence Lewis, Robert Davis, Keith McKnight, Derek Bryant

And to the journeyman:

Garing Lane, Ross Puritty, Louis Monaco, Frankie Swindell

Thank you Eurosport and the Cedric Kushner for bringing us the heavyweight explosion.

Who would have thought the heavyweight divison would have gone even further downhill from there?

I saw the Cooper/Boswell fight mentioned elsewhere and thought of this thread.

This is the guy Cooper beat last time out:

It's a brilliant idea. You could have different chapters - The Jeri-curl killers, Bitch-tits but dangerous, When tomato-cans attack - the upset reel.

Let's form a club!

Bring either of these two over to the UK and our new crop of giants would beat them with ease :box:
