allegedly press conference tomorrow

Post by wadey »

Details of Degale v Groves along with Cleverly v Brahemer going to be announced tomorrow in a press conference. Looks increasingly likely that the Degale fight is going to be on the same bill. May 21st.

Wembley Arena. This bill badly needed another big fight, and I think it was always on the cards. I couldn't understand why Cleverley would be fighting in London, instead of Wales, otherwise. Be interested to see who else is lined up for this bill. If your gonna ask punters for £15, you need to try and give value for money.

There's been talk about Froch v Johnson, on the same PPV, which would be very nice indeed, if a little far-fetched.

Mitchell v Murray would make also sense. Don't understand why Murray is fighting at York Hall in April, and can see this fight getting the heave-ho - surely ticket sales would have been better in Manchester, or doesn't he shift that many anyway?

I don't understand why Cleverly has not headlined a bill in Wales.

He is getting more & more support all the time in Manchester, but as you know with Micks TV problems he has been a slow burner for the last couple of years.
As you say the London thing is strange.

They will show Froch unless his fight gets put back until June.

I think Froch vs Johnson will be part of the same PPV - my guess - I think if there is a withdrawal - "cough "Brahmer" cough" then, like the last one it can be repromoted with the US show as the main event.

How much did Al pay for the Degale vs Groves fight - I thought Haymaker won the bid? So Al bought it off them?? Its a strange one.

No one think Braehmer fight is going to happen. This bill has pull out written all over it.

I seriously doubt Braehmer will turn up.

So what do we get, if it does hold?

Cleverly - Braehmer
DeGale - Groves
Brook - Someone he should really not be fighting at this stage of his career
Gavin - Someone other than Theophane, maybe though for vacant British
Bellew - McKenzie 2
Burns - Fana (I can dream, there won't be enough money in pot)
Maccarinelli ?

Expect Murray v Mitchell to be announced week after Murray's warm-up. Not sure about Wembley, I heard QPR

I will not pay for that card. Whack Frochy on there then I'll give Sky a ring to book my order, but only 2 hours before it kicks off, mind. Otherwise, I might end up with Froch/Johnson, Clev/Karpency, Brook/lemon, Gavin/lemon, Bellew/McKenzie, Burns/lemon and seeing Enzo Macc die.

Murray warm up should not be headling sky? Warren non ppv shows have been weak.

Won't be at Wembley, as the venue is being used for bammer 6 event. I have heard it's going to be a Loftus Road QPF FC on 21st May. :bag:

I'm looking forward to DeGale vs Groaves... But I don't give Groves much chance of winning.

Brahmer is so dodgy, not to be trusted until the weigh in.

fw's buillding it up on his site though "major announcement". should be a good bill with the two fights already mentioned, probably brook, maybe bellew v maccarinelli, gavin for british and rhodes v angulo possibly?

qpr sounds like an interesting venue, all will become clear, just hate it when warren builds up ure hopes and then loads of pull outs happen.

Surprisingly Dave Coldwell won the bids (not Hayemaker) which i found strange, but he must've come to some deal with allegedly

IF they happen, Cleverly vs Braehmer and DeGales vs Groves are very good fights, imo. I really hope they go ahead.
