Absolutely correct. I always bring this up when comparing past-greats to modern fighters. The modern fighter would often win these hypotheticals based purely on size because it's a mismatch, Abraham has been a Light Heavyweight in old school standards for a number of years now.BoxBuzz wrote:I like this point and look forward to others chiming in. If AA somehow did manage to get down to 160 for a five-hours-before-the-fight weigh-in, he'd probably keel over after about two rounds.
This is what distorts "Past vs present" hypothetical match-ups -- not only does the newer guy have a massive advantage 'cos he will by definition be bigger than the older guy, it can cut the other way: make it a level playing field so AA has to compete with Hagler (same-day weigh-in), & he'd probably die of dehydration.

We can assume Hagler would definitely of won this fight. Id say either easy on points or late stoppage,, As for the idiot before that said Hagler Ko1 well you will always get these types on a forum.
Re: Hagler vs Abraham at 160
I like Hagler late after winning probably every round. AA seems to have a good chin, but he is way too inactive and would likely get scared and just cover up. This could let him go some rounds, but Hagler's blows would take their toll.

Hagler wins by death.

IMO Hagler is the best middleweight of all time, therefore if Carl Froch can make Abraham look a clueless bum what would a peak Hagler do?
Hagler had far superior skills to Froch, it would be like watching the Tony Sibson fight all over again, hopefully without Abrahams arse hanging out though!

Or his shorts ripping. I seem to remember him being in a fight recently and his shorts ripping. As for him fighting Hagler. I can just Hagler making an utter mess of him as Hagler takes him part on the inside with crippling bodyshots due to Abraham's high guard and at long range too and causing Abraham to get reckless looking for a one punch knockout that he ends up getting flattened.llabwons wrote:IMO Hagler is the best middleweight of all time, therefore if Carl Froch can make Abraham look a clueless bum what would a peak Hagler do?
