I've seen it. I either saw it in real time or soon thereafter on TV, and I've watched several times recently on tape. I think Tony won. One could say I'm biased since his Dad is my friend. But I saw it the first time before I knew his Dad, and I thought he won back then too.

In my book, Mayweather tried to 'steal' the fight and that is always a risky policy when the other guy is trying harder to win. Hey, the judges got it right.

You mean Howard Davis, Jr., right? Not Mayweather, Jr.

My bad. Davis was floored twice - sent sprawling - but then got on his bike and stole the fight. Hey, the judges got it wrong.

No biggie, Bennie, as Roger Mayweather also got on his ten speed and rode like hell... :OhYes:

I saw this fight on TV when it happened. I thought it was fairly close, but that Davis deserved the decision. Have not seen the fight since.
One important thing to note is that the fight was scored on the rounds system, so really all a knockdown does is give that fighter that round (which he may won without the knockdown anyway.)

It's been awhile since I seen Davis Jr-Balzaltar, but I feel this way also.Tony had tremendous power, though, and probably should have been a champion.
