Good luck to Patrick J Maxwell in Prizefighter. Does anyone know of his whereabouts now? If so, I'd be grateful if anyone could put me in touch win him.
Pat has been an erratic performer throughout his career, and is (or was, maybe he's mellowed with age) a handful both in and outside the ropes for many promoters / managers / trainers. Providing he's in shape though I think he represents a decent outside each-way bet in Prizefighter. Maxwell is a fast-starter, aggressive and packs a punch. His discipline, stamina and defence has hindered his progress in his stop-start career but he has genuine ability.
I got to know Patrick reasonably well when boxing coverage first started to emerge on the web in 2002-2003 from my time in Sheffield. He always had something to say, was engaging and articulate behind the scenes and was always generous with his time. He was the kind of bloke that you couldn't help but root for, however, Pat thought the world owed him a favour and, sadly, for a variety of reasons, he let himself and those who showed faith in him down.
I'll be screaming at the telly and cheering him on in Prizefighter, despite thinking he's got a lot to do to win it. If anyone has his contact details feel free to drop me a text or give me a buzz on 07947 955342. I'd love to interview Patrick again for BoxRec News.
Best wishes,
Ben

Ben, he's training with Martin Williams (Carl Johanneson's trainer) in Leeds. I'll PM you Martin's number.

Re: Patrick J Maxwell
He's an interesting addition to the show, he does punch hard, and used to put his combinations together well.
The loss to Okoth stands out, I think Maxwell just went in there thinking Nik couldn't damage him.
If he gets the right draw to start the show, he stands a chance
