No kell brook may 21st?
Any word on wether brook is goin to feature on this bill yet?
Re: No kell brook may 21st?
His career's so frustrating
I've been telling my mates for the last few years that Kells gonna be the Greatest, but he's not getting enough outings and badly needs a step-up. I know he's in a strange division that's limiting his WBO World title opportunities, but Allegedly needs to pull his finger out his @rse and get him in an eliminator or somat (Ouali, Ortiz, Paulie, Jones, Senchenko..)

Re: No kell brook may 21st?
Frank's just waiting for that WBO belt to become vacant. It's a joke what's happening to Brook when you consider the talent he has.
Re: No kell brook may 21st?
I have to disagree with you Chambers; I feel that Kell would get found out if he were thrown in with any of the genuine top 15 welters. He's not been tested the way many of those men have been. Brook looks brilliant on occasion and has to be seen as the best welter in Britain but it's a big ask for a pretty untested boxer to be put against a hard fighting ambitious welter.Chambers2 wrote:His career's so frustrating![]()

Re: No kell brook may 21st?
It would just be nice to know either way. He's in danger of becoming the forgotten man of British boxing, especially with the likes of Degale and Gavin growing in popularity and exposure. If Degale and Groves can be given 8-10 rounder run outs, surely Kell could have had an outing - 2 rounds in 6 months is not good for a healthy boxer at this stage of his career.simon fox wrote:I have to disagree with you Chambers; I feel that Kell would get found out if he were thrown in with any of the genuine top 15 welters. It is starting to look like an incredible waste of an undeniable talent. EBU is the way to go. Win that, then defend a couple of times, then we'll be better placed to know where he is in terms of "world class".

What must kell be thinking himself? If it was me I'd be crying out to be as active as possible, I know it's not that easy but ![[icon_witsend.gif] :witzend:](./images/smilies/icon_witsend.gif)
Re: No kell brook may 21st?
So, how do you find out if he's up to it, then? Erm, give him a test, perhaps? If I was him, I'd be absolutely boiling.simon fox wrote:I have to disagree with you Chambers; I feel that Kell would get found out if he were thrown in with any of the genuine top 15 welters. He career seems to be going nowhere!
Re: No kell brook may 21st?
I'm sure we'll see some progress on this front soon.
Kell is training, has no injuries and ready to start camp when he gets the go-ahead from his management.
He must have been WBO mandatory for Pacman for a year now. I'm sure Frank W MUST be on their case trying to get him that short at his natural weight.

Re: No kell brook may 21st?
ive heard many times that kell doesnt sell many tickets , so maybe thats why warren isnt so keen to look after him in the same way he does others but sees a good fighter and i think is therfor doing what he can until he hopefully becomes more popular to joe average but until then if hes going to balance the books then brook wont get the same treatment that some others do .
Re: No kell brook may 21st?
some would say that he may sell more tickets if he'd been developed in a different way- for example, if he had ever fought in his home town.damianhucker1 wrote:ive heard many times that kell doesnt sell many tickets , so maybe thats why warren isnt so keen to look after him in the same way he does others but sees a good fighter and i think is therfor doing what he can until he hopefully becomes more popular to joe average but until then if hes going to balance the books then brook wont get the same treatment that some others do .

Re: No kell brook may 21st?
completely agree , i had a white collar fighter that couldnt sell many tickets , think he sold around 8 for his first bout , but he was good so i stuck with him , hes now a cruiswerweight champion and sells more than 150 tickets , which while isnt massive its a huge improvement , enough to make him worth my while and make himself descent money , he won one of his last fights with a 9 seconds stoppage of a guy that was unbeaten , and earned £1600 for his trouble , not bad in my opinondanfoster wrote:some would say that he may sell more tickets if he'd been developed in a different way- for example, if he had ever fought in his home town.damianhucker1 wrote:ive heard many times that kell doesnt sell many tickets , so maybe thats why warren isnt so keen to look after him in the same way he does others but sees a good fighter and i think is therfor doing what he can until he hopefully becomes more popular to joe average but until then if hes going to balance the books then brook wont get the same treatment that some others do .
in fact heres a vid someone filmed if anyones interested , was only at a 250 capacity social club that was too small for us to even be allowed to use the fancy lighting etc , so it all looks very basic but was sold out , the 250 capacity may be small but it was only in a small village 30 miles outside sheffield my guy was the main attraction despite him being from Nottingham which was another 40 miles further south , you can even see me walk past in a white shirt at 0:26

Kells been walking through British competition with ease, he needs to be stepped up (whether he sinks or swims). Personally I think Kell will be our next Superstar if his career starts progressingsimon fox wrote:I have to disagree with you Chambers; I feel that Kell would get found out if he were thrown in with any of the genuine top 15 welters. Re: No kell brook may 21st?
He will almost certainly be on it, but not fighting at world level just another nobody. Why cant he just move to another belt Pac is going to have that one for few years yet
Re: No kell brook may 21st?
kel Brook = semi retired.
Re: No kell brook may 21st?
LOL.kingfinn wrote:kel Brook = semi retired.
I may get ribbed for this, but I feel Kell's voice lets him down.
No joke, too.
Re: No kell brook may 21st?
Brook has only beaten two of the top British welterweights: McIntyre and Jennings. He hasn't shown that he is much above British level yet.Chambers2 wrote:Kells been walking through British competition with ease, he needs to be stepped up (whether he sinks or swims). Is he as good as matthew hatton?
Re: No kell brook may 21st?
He's probably better than Matthew Hatton, though there's little in the way of solid evidence to prove that.
Re: No kell brook may 21st?
Yup, thats my view and point matthew hatton is out there getting mixed in with the big names and fights showing balls and hunger, where as kel brook who is supposedly the number 1 welterweight in britain who is apparently so briliant has done sod all and doesnt look like he is going to either. How can we not know how good he is yet?LeedsLad wrote:He's probably better than Matthew Hatton, though there's little in the way of solid evidence to prove that.
Re: No kell brook may 21st?
Exactly.
Look at his opponents since he became British champion......
Barrie Jones - 1-4 since, including KO losses to Watson and Cook, lost his previous fight to Dohety, no notable wins.
Kevin McIntyre - 2-1 since, was a good win at the time given he was the REAL champ having beat Ando x2.
Stuart Elwell -
enough said.
Michael Lomax - 2-2 since, destroyed by Frankie Gavin.
Krzystof Bienias - won a MD against a 2-15 fighter next time out, was fighting at 6 round level for years previous.
Michael Jennings - not sure where the real Michael Jennings was, BS cut stoppage.
Philip Kotey - bloody awful opponent, albeit at late notice.
Compare that to Hatton, who has for all his critics really stepped up to the mark since the loss to Watson.
Brook is probably better, but Matthew is more proven against good opposition.
I'd like to see Kell either go to the States or be served up to Gavin in a sink or swim fight, which he'd lose.

Re: No kell brook may 21st?
Gavin will be leagues above brook by next year and would most likely beat him now - if warren really had any faith in him, and kel was really hungry he'd be getting big fights.LeedsLad wrote:Exactly.

Brook seems to be all swagger and no cahoonas.
