Seen the clip on YT, DeGale sounds like an absolute prick but I only think he's doing it all to attract attention. In boxing it seems the more absurd you are the more money you make.

There was just this massive contrast between the two, DeGale with his scruffy don't give a damn look and Groves in his suit.

Going to jump on the Groves bandwagon for this one.

Kenny Anderson is a big, strong, banger at that weight who IMO would stop Smith pretty comfortably. Groves has fought a higher level of competition so far - no doubt.

You have to put into context, smith campaigned as a light-middleweight as an amateur whereas anderson fought at light-heavweight!I think that puts the size into some sort of context for me!Smith was a pretty short super-middle and he looks like he has pretty short arms to me to which when going against degale who clearly has long arms puts you at an disadvantage.

Thought Groves came across really well in studio, whilst DeGale just seemed awkward. Was it just me or does Groves look a little like Adam Booth with his little smirks etc?

Yeah - Haye, Booth and Groves all have very similar mannerisms

Degale does come across very arrogant, but the way he's going about moving up another level with each fight is very refreshing. It's great to see Groves and Degale get it on - I wish more unbeaten fighters would put there '0' on the line. Personally I hope Groves edges a classic.

Someone must know how to make an 'OFFICIAL' thread!

If we get any more official threads, then should we make this one a "Super" thread or do we just class the other threads as interim official threads?

DeGale better hope he makes a lot of money from his boxing as I doubt he will have much of a career as a pundit or after-dinner speaker........... "I just got my words mixed up"

DeGale will outman Groves and stop him between the 4th and 8th round IMO. I'd love Groves to win, i'm no fan of DeGale, his attitude stinks and his boxing talent is overrated, but he's a notch up from Groves IMO!

I think Haymaker are making a grave mistake putting Groves in with DeGale at this point of his career. He's long odds on to loose on my card, and most likely by heavy KO. On such a massive stage, after all the hype and publicity this is going to get in the run up to fight night, a crushing defeat to his arch rival at this early stage of his career could have a very negative effect on his career longterm.

Haymaker should have kept their ego in check, and kept Groves out of this one for the time being.

I think you're right; I want to see em both do well, and would love to see Groves turn on the style and win a great fight on points, not damaging either's prospects going forward.
But I think DeGale is probably going to win by TKO and put a major dent in Groves' career.

I think Degale will pick apart and utterly destroy Groves. Unfortunately for Groves it'll probably be a late stoppage. I cannot understand how anyone can think Groves had a chance in this fight. Its a horrific fight for Groves and I just hope comes back from it.
