I think Ruiz would surely be a fairly comfortable winner, but I tell you these top tenners are far from anything special. I don't know if you saw it but David Tua IMO was lucky lucky lucky to have caught up with his comeback opponent in the last round - I thought he was losing the fight.

My god he was poor, he made Tyson on Saturday look fast. The guy who Tua fought wasn't any good and had a patchy record like McBride.

McBride's style doesn't suit Tua but it wouldn't take a particularly great boxer to beat him, just someone with a jab.

It's a long, long time since Ruiz won any fight comfortably. In fact aside from a relatively clear win over Holyfield in their second fight he hasn't had a clear cut win over anyone in a title fight. I wouldn't give Kevin a shot against too many of the top ten guys but I'd imagine that most of the top 50 heavys could actually prove competitive with Ruiz if not actually beat him.

Also Ruiz wins fights by basically being stronger than guys on the inside and outworking them there, that's hardly the kind of style likely to give McBride fits. That's his game as well. Frankly it will probably make for the worst heavyweight title fight ever to watch but I don't see it as being one sided and if Ruiz's motivation is gone for the game and McBride can improve still further on last weekends performance I'd give him a decent shot.

I'd agree, but I don't even think that one was too clear - a case could be made for recognising that bout as Holyfield KO 10 Ruiz. Of course, the round after that was clear enough...

I know the score cards disagreed but I had Ruiz a clear winner vs Johnson and Rahman. I suppose its your defination of clear. I had Ruiz 3-4 rounds up on both fight (although Johnson's fight he was assisted by the point deductions). He also (IMO) was robbed of a geninue stoppage win vs Johnson.
