"He's a club fighter that they put on HBO." That was Floyd Mayweather's description of Arturo Gatti this afternoon on a teleconference to promote next week's HBO PPV bout. "He's never been in there with a guy like me. His last six opponents I could beat in one night. His last six are not on the same level as my last six." Mayweather sounded confident and ready to engage in his first Pay Per View performance. "He's going to get outboxed easy and then I'm going to stop him." Mayweather also accused Gatti of being scared and of having no confidence. "He don't really believe he's going to win. He's scared. The only reason why this fights happening is because he'll be stripped of the WBC title," said Mayweather, the WBC mandatory challenger. "He's not a good fighter. He's not on my level and I'm going to show you." Although tickets for the card have long been sold out, promoter Bob Arum is predicting approximately 500,000 pay-per-view buys. In addition to the Gatti-Mayweather fight, Vivian Harris will box Carlos Maussa and upcoming talents Ivan Calderon and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will also see action. Undisputed Junior Welterweight champion Ricky Hatton is expected to be in attendance, possibly scouting his next opponent.
