I suspect Gatti may tag Floyd once or twice in there, be interesting to see how well he copes. Gatti is perhaps overrated, but I think his punching technique is good enough and his strength good enough to pressure Gatti. Castillo was able to keep pressing forward, and I think that's what Gatti has to do, if he tries to turn it into a boxing match, he's surely going to get battered.MightyWarrior wrote:Yes agree with last two posts - Floyd will hammer Gatti every which way but loose: different class, Gatti will look like he's in a different time zone.
Floyd v Zab - now that's a superfight if I ever saw one. I'd go Floyd by KO I reckon - better chin being the difference. Zab looked a million dollars last time out though.

Gatti will make things interesting for sure, because yes he does have a sound technique (although that right hand punch isn't too straight these days) and he's probably tough enough to take whatever comes his way.
But on the whole he'll never land enough solid shots to get his hand raised at the end.

Yeah...Gatti`s definitly the Banger in there...but floyd catches you from crazy angles...I think Gatti is a little too straight forward and might get caught leaning in a little lookin for the big bomb...although when you look at the Chop-Chop fight Mayweather was rocked a little...and im guessing Gatti punches harder than Corley....Thats the only way i see Gatti winning is the big KO...
Not my fault he comes across as a bit of a c*nt!felixthacat wrote:Thats a bit harsh? :(jeej wrote:He's talented and entertaining in and outside of the ring - but the guy's a complete c*nt!
He thinks he's Muhammed Ali running his mouth off all the time. A little respect for his fellow athletes wouldn't go a miss every once in a while.

I think Gatti's limitations have been shown a number of times now, realistically this could be a one-sided win for Mayweather. Gatti is not a big, big puncher not is he the all-action fighter he was. Had Buddy McGirt not reinvented Gatti as a smarter boxing fighter a few years ago he would probably be finished at top level now. The problem he has though is that whilst he has been outboxing opponents with McGirt they have been of the Leija, Ward and Branco calibre, capable guys but not in the Mayweather P4P bracket.
The things Floyd says should be taken with a pinch of salt in my opinion. All this talk of Gatti being a bum and what not, but really according to other websites (maxboxing is where i read it) the guy is training his arse off.
He knows what he is up against. Did you guys see the article on fightnews a while back, he looked in tip top shape and apparently did a one hour workout without even sipping any water to prove his fitness (does that work? who knows?)
Like hes said, he plays the bad guy because Arturo is the favourite and the goody guy, hes just trying to up his PPV sales.
As for wanting to prove something in public because no-one appreciates his talents? Pffff. Thats a bold opinion, he seems like a good guy, higlighted by his work for charity, and he likes to party, at parties things kick off, hes there, whats he to do? Defend himself or get fooked up? Who knows what goes on, but seriously doubt someone who has thoudands if not millions watching his skills on HBO, that he'd need to use them to in public to gratify his ego.
And the thug life image, is just that, an image. He openly states he likes fast cars, big houses, nice bling, you cant begrudge him that, so far none of those things have effected his career, and it is well known he is an absolute gym rat.
In my opinion Floyd is just playing his role, he wants to get noticed and he acts brash to do so. I mean come on, the sport would be a bit boring if it was full of Ricky Hatton's. Take the love fest after the fight between him and tszyu, imagine that every week, wheres the fun?

Err, no. I like undefeated fighters just fine. Wife-beating loudmouths are just a little harder to tolerate.DA_SERGEANT_WRIGHT wrote:yeh he wears it on his shorts he even raps sumtimes and the domestic violence thing let me clear this up right now his wife beat him up 1st yeh hitting him with combos them throwing stuff at him he gave her one box and well uno the 2nd time wen it got to court she addmitted she attacked him an she simply restrained her he never hit back the 2nd time she filled against him and lets remember deiago corraless used to batter his wife proper but no one gives him a hard time about it people jus dnt like undefeated people as soon as he gets beat theyl love him jus like judah /eubank/benn/the list goes on and on

It reminds me of the way Eubank & Naz used to talk.
Amir Khan & Audley Harrisson have it in them as well.
Its convidence but some people dont like it, im not a fan of big mouths but you have to admire them for sticking there neck on the line!
Floyd will just look silly with his trash talk when he loses a fight & he will!
Some people talk with a kind of comedy Ali was one but it was fun to watch. Floyd is just one person i want seen taken down a peg or two!

Mayweather Jr virtually never gets tagged with a surprise shot. If he did lose a fight it would only be by a decision that he would certainly dispute long and loud.ABA Boxing wrote:Floyd will just look silly with his trash talk when he loses a fight & he will!
I think Floyd is too talented to ever get embarrassed in a boxing ring, unless he fights on too long.
