HOW MUCH DID COTTO WEIGH ON THE NIGHT
How much did Cotto weight on the night against Abdullaev? I didn't catch how much they said on Sky last night but it seems he's doing a Gatti, you know, boiling down and then rehydrating and putting shedloads on. Looked a bit sluggish in his last few fights hasn't he. I know he doesn't always set a frantic pace but boy, when he does open up he has a great array of shots.
A Hatton fight would be great but I think Cottos outgrowing the 10st division fast. He looked huge.

According to Jin Watt - it it the ones who come in 'bang on' who have the weight issues..?.
Speaking of Jin - where is Mosleys trash talking wife?.
She is Ghetto! ( yes - I know it is Jim Watt)

I seem to recall Tommy Hearns came in under the weight for his bout against Leonard, and was badly weight drained.DG. wrote:jamesmcdonnell wrote:Overtrained. Not disputing what you say - just remembering JW saying the opposite!.
I think it is down to the individual!

YES AGREE WHOLEHEARTEDLY! The Sky panel wer well in favour of Casa but from what I hear, HBO were riding Kid D's nuts so to speak...
Kid D looked 1-D and Casa may have perceived bad attitude, arrogance, dirty and spoiler status but he countered and picked off Kid D all night and certainyl looked well in control for the last rounds ( bar 1 shot)
Casa is the less atrractive option though and Kid D is the house fighter...
I think that Cotto will go to welter sooner rather than later. Basically he has the WBO belt so he can claim to be a 1-weight champ already.
theres loads of dollar available at welter as well, so there's no need to boil down to light-wleter all the time.
I think if Cotto goes to welter he'll improve a heck of a lot. He SHOULD look less lethargic and have a better work-rate. (he seems to over-train to get to 140); or maybe the problem is just lack of mental application...
I would pick Hatton to beat him simply cos as classy as Cotto looks he mentally drifts off and is susceptable to walking back againist the ropes.

Woah!!
Someone said he weighed in at approx. 210 lbs....
ha ha ha

ha ha ha
I'm pretty sure there was something wrong with the scales: Cotto, Abdu, Casa AND Kid Diamond all weighed in over a pound under the limit. I can't recall a time that 4 fighters were under the limit by that much.Chambers2 wrote:I found it strange that he weighed in at 138 though
Seems more likely that Cotto was 139. And it's going to cost him: I like Hatton's chances against Cotto right now. He's classy, but I'm not so sure that he can last the pace.

Cotto doesn't like having to match his opponent's pace either.Gary_V wrote:I think that Cotto will go to welter sooner rather than later. Basically he has the WBO belt so he can claim to be a 1-weight champ already.

At welter he will be facing taller harder hitting fighters but may hit a little harder himself and have better stamina. He must outweight opponents significantly at 140, be interesting to see how much difference it would make coming into fights being outweighed.
