11th - Vassell

Bit of a dull fight really this has been, the one-dimensional style of Vassell versus the cheeky but fairly negative Ushona.

12th Vassell

Awkward opponent but Vassell has major improvements to make if he is gona go anything beyond this level.

Yeah he was good. I thought the judges were a bit generous for Vassell, especially 118-112.

Piss poor scoring. What do you expect though?

Ushona was a fiddly fighter but he didn't do enough to take the title. 118-112 is a little bit generous I agree.

116-112 Vassell

Really good learning fight for him, hopefully he improves his defence and comes in with multiple strategies and learns to adapt better. He got caught silly a few times and just looked to outwork his opponent when a step back and come back in would of worked a treat. Good to see his desire at the end though really gritted it out

I thought Vassell stood upright and then ducked once a punch had landed, when he had warmed up he looked better, more lateral movement and body punching.

Vassell is like a poor mans Timothy Bradley, and i don't mean that in a derogatory way.

Vassell is going to struggle as he moves up IMO. He looks solely to walk an opponent down, and really doesnt have the power to do that 100% of the time.

on a positive note Ushona looked a real handful, it's nice to see an african leave the show with credibillity nowadays.

that's true - there's been some shocking matchups recently - Brook v Kotey springs to mind. I reckon ushona would have definitely given brook a few more rounds.
