All I ever read about is how Robinson Robinson would have won had it not been for the heat.
Well, I've got news for you. Maxim fought in the same heat. If he hadn't then he may have performed better as well..

It was just Maxim did nothing for 13 rounds hoping/knowing that Sugar Ray Robinson would tire out - Robinson won every round (without looking at boxrec) if I am right.

There was more to it than the heat. Robinson couldn't hurt Maxim, & he expended a hell of a lot of juice trying.

Now that I've been enlightened, I feel much better about the outcome in that bout and also life in general.
Re: Robinson vs Maxim - The Truth.
I have a boxing book that states Robinson lacked heart because he refused to come out of the corner. I have watched footage and it was obvious he was out of his feet from exhaustion + heat. I don't see what that has to do with heart, was obvious his body just couldn't take it anymore and was shutting down.

Meh, he was just soft, Sam Langford would've gutted it out because in those days they were "harder" men.Trent wrote:I have a boxing book that states Robinson lacked heart because he refused to come out of the corner.
