Rendall Monroe Signs for Hattons
Just read on face book Rendall left Frank Maloney and signing with the hattons.
Re: Rendall Monroe Signs for Hattons
Surprising seeing as Maloney got him world title shot in his last fight
Re: Rendall Monroe Signs for Hattons
Could a match up with Quigg be on the horizon?
Re: Rendall Monroe Signs for Hattons

Re: Rendall Monroe Signs for Hattons
Billy there was nothing behind the scenes i am as shock as anyone else about this, But i been told that Rendall has had people whispering down his ear that he should not come back with an 8 rounder that he is world class and should be fighting at that level and the Hattons have promise him a world title fight with there working deal with golden boys and 5 fights a year well that going to be hard as they only have 6 fights a year with sky right now. But good luck to Rendall but when he loses let see what the hatton will do with him .billy bessey wrote:thats the main reason i never went through with my pro trainers licence when i got it no loyalty in the pro game peoples head getting turned too easy, Not that i blame the fighters who are just looking for better. But half the time like Frank says it isnt always so good on the other side. Not so bad in manchester london liverpool e.t.c but the south coast isnt exactly a hot bed of boxing and it would be a gutter getting a decent lad only for him to see the bright lights of london in some cases it works out but in others all that glitters isnt gold. I saw frank at a scabby scumhampton show on saturday watching one of his lads in a routine workout on a small hall show not many would do that. It seems to me as if he really takes an interest and cares about his fighters. but ya never know whats behind the scenes i supposeFtmPress wrote:That were i read it as well thank heaven for face book. Crumbs!
His opponent has got to be better than the one he had lined up anyway.
Feel sorry for Maloney on this, I thought he did a good job with Rendall. You could argue he could have been given Molitor instead of Booth, but he still had some good fights/titles.

Disgusting. No loyalty or decency, perfect for them.
Re: Rendall Monroe Signs for Hattons
Hattons only got 6 shows A year. They not got enough dates for there current stable as it is.
Re: Rendall Monroe Signs for Hattons
I am surprised macklin fighting on khan card as he previously lasted one fight for hattons!boxingchat wrote:Disgusting. No loyalty or decency, perfect for them.

Up to now doubt anyone would have said that about Rendall. Always come across really good.
Re: Rendall Monroe Signs for Hattons
Well said this man . One thing i learn in this boxing world fighters come and go but other stay Look at FW he still here after somebig names have left him . Maloney will still be here long after Hatton's have lost all Ricky's money and Munroe is wash up. Anyway all is not well in the Hatton camp lots of infighting going on wash this space.boxingchat wrote:Disgusting. No loyalty or decency, perfect for them.
Re: Rendall Monroe Signs for Hattons
I'm probably the biggest Maloney critic there is, but I'm very surprised at hearing this news.
Obviously there's more to it than meets the eye, perhaps Rendall does feel he's better than an 8-rounder against an inexperienced opponent, or doesn't fancy the domestic merry go round?
My biggest problem with Frank is that he won't shove two fighters in against each other unless he absolutely has to.... which surely isn't right.
Maybe Munroe feels he got the short straw having to go to Japan against a genuine world class opponent rather than a slightly faded Molitor that Booth got at home. A younger Booth would have gotten the job done, of that I'm sure.
Either way, there's some good opportunities out there for Rendall, I wish him all the best.

Not the way to find out to be fair, it always came across that you were close? Bad form IMHO, Chin up Frank.FtmPress wrote:That were i read it as well thank heaven for face book. Re: Rendall Monroe Signs for Hattons
I could answer this but all i will say is the job of the promoter to earn his fighter the best paid day he can. And just for the record we try to make Molitor and Rendall but Molitor team would not fight Monroe that why Jason got the shot. Rendall was the no 1 for the WBC title and got paid very well to go to Japan plus 6 exps instead of 3 s he deal to go to japan was a good one which him and his team were very happy with but like all boxers they believe the last person they speak to and only hear what they want. I will go on record and say Rendall is making a big mistake but is up to him and his team.Let see were they are in a years time.LeedsLad wrote:I'm probably the biggest Maloney critic there is, but I'm very surprised at hearing this news.

Re: Rendall Monroe Signs for Hattons
Even if all of that were true (and for what it's worth I believe Frank's opinion on this), it still doesn't excuse the appalling way it (hasn't) been communicated. Quite frankly, for Frank to find out through Facebook like an average punter is a disgrace - if Rendall or his team wanted to make the move, at the very least they should have 'manned up' and spoken to Frank personally to communicate that before it went public. Nothing can excuse not doing that IMO.LeedsLad wrote: Obviously there's more to it than meets the eye, perhaps Rendall does feel he's better than an 8-rounder against an inexperienced opponent, or doesn't fancy the domestic merry go round?

Re: Rendall Monroe Signs for Hattons
Well, I'm not kissing no backsides here but I dont think Munroe would have got or be where he is if it wasn't for Maloney. How many fighters do you think would welcome an easier job (no disrespect for intended opponent, but on paper) to come back too after a tough title fight and tough year? You get all these so called experts speaking in the fighters ear with their opinion and 'whats best' when they're at the top of the tree but silent in the beginning. Why do fighters take notice of any tom dick or harry and no notice of who got them where they are when they are there? I've seen it time and again, I believe this will be the beginning of Munroes down fall (hoping I'm wrong). Hatton Promotions have one thing in mind and thats for their 1st choice Quigg to take Munroes scalp eventually and to progress Quigg's career. I doubt we'll see Munroe reach the same heights again now because Maloney got him alot further than what ability alone would have. Boxings a short career Munroe, dont f*ck it up and finishing it on regrets.

Wasn't he under contract?
Re: Rendall Monroe Signs for Hattons
Fair play to Frank for explaining the Molitor/Nishioka situation.

Re: Rendall Monroe Signs for Hattons
I'm totally shocked by this. Horrible lack of loyalty
Re: Rendall Monroe Signs for Hattons
As Micky Duff said famously said, "If you want loyalty get a dog."
Got to feel for Maloney here if true. Built the kid up after losing to Andy Morris and stumped up cash to bring in Europeans and get him to number one in the WBC.
If he'd stayed where he was the phone would have rung and another world title fight would have happened.
Very bad if he hasn't called Maloney and spilt it on Facebook.
Surely the Shinfields can see what Maloney has done for him. Someone must have got in his earhole

Munroe needs to explain his side of the story because as its going now he is going to be loosing a lot of fans over this.
