Guys Who Finished Their Careers without a Loss

Post by SaadOffTheDeck »

I'm not sure what led me to think of him. But Jemal Hinton popped into my head. Kronk Jr Feather who looked like a potential star and then, for reasons I don't recall, never fought again.

I'm certainly not in the corner of people whoi think an "0" is the ultimate measure of greatness. There are some obvious answers. But out of curiosity who else never lost?

To name the obvious ones Calzaghe, Ottke, Marciano and Lopez. Also, Ibeabuchi, Terry Marsh, Lazslo Papp, Jack McAuliffe.

It seems like their was a prospect a few years ago...was it Jesus Gonzalez?

Who retired 12-0 with 12 knockouts due to a potential brain injury or something. I could be altogether wrong, but someone else might know more about it than me.

Stacy Goodson had a HW prospect that retired without a loss. We used to always kid about him. Tall fella, I forget his name.

Didn't Mickey Rourke retire undefeated? Not sure off the top of my head, but it was either he or Jack Palance.

Best undefeated fighter I ever saw, & it ain't close, was Ricardo Lopez. Should he remain undefeated, only Floyd Mayweather will be his competition for that mantle.

I mentioned him in another thread, Ronnie Shiels.

That guy had alot of talent, fast hands and great combination puncher. Very, very good fighter. I remember him blitzing Del Bryant and Kid Milo, both who went on to have some very good succeses. He had a lot of potential.

Some one said he had hand problems and 'found God'.

Jimmy Barry. First ever Bantamweight champion under Queensbury rules, although at the time it was considered Paperweight, I believe, and in fact dealt with men even smaller than the current Strawweight class. Barry was around 100 pounds in his prime. Anyways, career record of 59-0-10, with his last 8-9 fights being little more than exhibitions; agreed upon draws.

I do hope you mean washed up in the sense of his pathetic mental fragility. Surely you wouldn't try to claim a 23 year old with just over 120 rounds, in a 37 fight perfect record was physically drained.
It's sarcasm based on his obsessed fans who talk about Tyson being unbeatable during his PRIME 15 minute period. (at least I presume so)

It's true, spend enough time around here & eventually you'll find someone claiming that Mike's prime actually only lasted until the first round of the Reggie Gross fight. Utterly ridiculous attempts to explain away their hero's mortality, basically.

He should've had that as his ring-name, you know. Rolls off the tongue much easier than "Iron".

Nice shout out for the Basque Country's "Tigre de Irala," 42-0-1 and Euro bantamweight champ
A guy I remember from late 1990s: Argentine bantamweight Marcos Oscar Garro, who I think at one time was ranked but never fought for a title.
