Rendall Monroe Signs for Hattons

Just read on face book Rendall left Frank Maloney and signing with the hattons.

That were i read it as well thank heaven for face book. Well as we say in the world of boxing the grass all ways look greener on the other side untill you get there as many have found out.

Rendall has always seemed such a down to earth and straightforward man; I am surprised he hasn't told you personally what the gripe is. Even if you couldn't fix it (or want to) then at least it'd have been more 'right'.

The only way to see if this was a good move by Rendall is when his career is over.
I don't think this is a move by the Hattons to get a fight with Quigg set up, if the money was right i'm sure Frank would of set that fight up anyway.

Nope there's totally no point in that fight at this moment. Rendall is on the verge of the world scene and will be wanting to stay around there and at least euro level.

Maybe a couple of years down the line it could happen.

It may well have been a good move promotionally; Hatton Promotions are in tight with Golden Boy; if they can get Matthew a shot at Alvarez (for a World Title) then they'll do well for Rendall as well.

If it is the case that Mr Maloney read about it on Facebook then it's a shame. I'd have thought that one of Rendalls' camp, Monroe himself or one of the Hattons would have let him know what was going on; (at least a minute before the Facebook announcement).

Is it a good move to hand over british bodies for goldenboys stars . The world title shot for Matthews was more to do with the WBC wanting the young mexican fighter to getting a world title, But take nothing away from Matthews brave attempt, is much the same as offering ryan rhodes for the same Alvarez, And looking at the current spr-bantamweight champion i am not sure golden boys have one but i could stand corrected.

I don't think it's necessarily good for British boxing for it's stars to be 'pawns' in GoldenBoys plans; they are more likely to get a shot that they can't win rather than (not) get a shot that they can.

It may be better for the individual boxer to give it their best shot, probably on HBO, and try to upset the odds. If they're getting well paid for the risk; who can fault them? They are professionals after all; they're not voluntary workers or amateurs.

There's no doubt that GoldenBoy and Hatton Promotions have some clout; I've not read that anyone was, 'given an offer they couldn't refuse'. All the boxers that have been 'poached' (TM) have, 'seen the light'. There's no doubt at all that a massive amount of work has gone into their respective careers behind the scenes. It must be galling to watch them sail of into the sunset.

I'm not sure if GoldenBoy have a Superbantam champ but they'll have some fierce up and comer that'll be at title level in 6 or 12 months and I bet he won't be fighting in Leicester.

This was a surprise to be honest, but a big coupe for the Hatton's. I know a lot of you are against this, but if we manage to get better bills being shown as a result as Hatton will have to bulk out his shows now, I am all for it. Maloney has been putting some pretty weak shows on recently. All I will say is we do not know whats happened behind the scenes, so I will still support Munroe myself.

What dose it say, I know what was agreed and what was in place, But as we have said the grass all ways looks greener on the other side untill you get there, Do you think we would put a fight on sale April 9 with out all parties agreeing terms and the way forward. Let me all so say there no sour grapes is just the way Team Monroe when about it. If Monroe has nothing to hide or worry about why has not return any of Maloney,s phone calls or even spoke to Maloney. We rest our case and will get on with what we do best.

We listen to you all jumping up and down and talking about money here but do any of you know how much Rendall was paid in the time he was with Maloney. When he join Maloney he was on the small halls fighting 6 rounds. Frank is not worry about Monroe moving on as he knows he can be replaced but is the way is be done with out anyone talking to Frank.

Ndlovu is NOT the greatest beltholder in the world. Ndlovu i would imagine does NOT make huge amounts of money.

okay, so, bearing in mind you can get a slot as an IBF mandatory in return for a box of Shreddies.... yeah.... and bearing in mind Ndlovu would probably come over to England for £2.50 + expenses, yeah.......

might Hatton Promotions be trying to get a beeline on one of the weaker beltholders in the world... Rendall gets the IBF bauble.... then maybe a voluntary against a brit (Booth?)... take care of a mandatory if they can...

and THEN (18 months down the line?) maybe Quigg will be ready for the shot?????? i accept that he's probably not ready and agree with those that don't think Rendall's being 'served' to him soon.... but i do think HP want to move Quigg in the mediumterm.......
