But a tournament featuring Oquendo, McCall, Botha, Rogan, Harris, Sprott and Vidoz.....by way of example....
£32,000 would be a hell of a lot to these guys right now, Most of them are fighting for around $20,000 to $35000 dollar if they can get it. You just have to look at the american heavywight scene to see how bad it is and when was the last time HBO or Showtime did a big heavyweight fight, The boxing world has change.
ocquendo has a nice gig doing boxing commentary for more than 32k,mccall gets more doing 3 fights a year, botha can get more doin mma and a few boxing matches here an there....sprott and vidoz would do it in a blink.....my point is to get a mccalll or holyfield over....which is what we want....the promoters would probably have to offer in mccalls case a 30 grand sign on seperate to the actual tournament . Holyfield can make 250 grand 500k per fight 4 times a year plus he hasnt been able to fight more than 45 seconds a round for the last 10 years

It's the mixture of veterans and youth that really makes this tournament a success. I hope we get a good mix of it in this one. We don't really want to see it turn out to be a hold each other and gulp for air affair. So far it's looking promising :box:

He's not reigning... he never beat the man, Tony Tubbs!

Throw my vote for Walker in as well. Never in a bad fight.

Fres would be a good addition...so the line up so far is:

Kevin Johnson
Mike Perez
Richel Hersisia
Konstantin Airich
Michael Sprott
Fres Oquendo

Will be interesting who they get for the final 2 places, surely they need at least 1 more British/Irish boxer involved?

Richel Hersisia  Former undefeated WBF Champion.

Interesting that Sprott is there again. You would assume that after winning the last one, he could've at least got himself a British title shot or something. Audley got a shot at Haye because of winning.

Eddie Hearn said that nearly all confirmed. Mentioned a canadian fighter did not mention Hersisia again. Sprott see it as opportunity for bigger things.

mmm - Canadian fighter. I wonder if there has been another prizefighter "typo" and they mean former and comebacking world title challenger Kirk Johnson and not Kevin.

Canadian fighter? If it's Bermane Stiverne then i'd make him my fave to win the tournament, he's one of the hardest punching heavyweights in boxing outside of the Klits and Haye and would suit a 3 rd fight format.

Well if Hersisia was dropped that wouldn't be any loss.
