Newspaper decision.

Do you mean this from a recent fight? Normally they are during the 'no contest' era when you needed a knockout to win, and the result is given on the basis of press scoring.

yakub Saglam lost to Michael Wallisch heavyweight last night...but it seems to have this nws result. it is a bit odd. must be a no contest.

I think that Boxrec uses it when they know who won but not the full details. Check it again in a few days.

They got the result from a reporter but not from the commission because it is only verified on boxrec when the commision sends the result to boxrec. NWS means generally 'newspaper descion' when during the earlier part of the 20th century there was no contests to stop gambling fixes but the newspaper would give the result of the contest and who they thought won.

Usually shows as a NC until the result is verified.
