Simpson and IBF
Simpson and IBF
Could John Simpson be close to an IBF title shot if he beats Swifty? I see that Dib and Garcia are close to agreeing terms to fight for the vacant title and John is no 4 (with no 2 not rated) so would it be possible that he could get into a mandatory position?
Re: Simpson and IBF

simpson had everything in his favor last time, home advantage, smiths 11th fight 1st time live and sky and he done his hand in and imo won by 2 rounds think this will be a lot clearer, i respect simpsons always comes to fight and he sone well to beat lindsay but think smith is just to good for him
Re: Simpson and IBF

Re: Simpson and IBF
If it's a vacant title fight then I think their rules state a mandatory not due for another 12 months?sgtcecil wrote:Could John Simpson be close to an IBF title shot if he beats Swifty? Alright Michael; You'd been around the same weight for over 10 years, when you stopped boiling down and dieting you were bound to pile it on. It happened to a few feathers and superfeathers round Donny. Pete Gabbitus is really stocky, you not think he'd been 9/4 and 9/9 up to been about 35 years old. He must be 14 stone now (muscle).

Re: Simpson and IBF
i would love it it if john got a title shot, i dont think he world title material but he'll certainly give it his all. and if he wins then billy nelson is a helluva trainer!
Re: Simpson and IBF
My money on Swifty but you gotta admire Simpson!! The guy faces anyone and everyone, IBF title might be a bit too far.. European would be ideal for the winner..

Re: Simpson and IBF
I disagree with you Tony, Stephen got the nod somehow last time when John boxed for his standard very poorly but mate i can assure you and everyone that Simpson is in great nick for this fight and is super determined to win, as im sure Stephen will be. A IBF title shot would be a great overdue reward once Simpson gets Stephen out the way!Bomber 1 wrote:My money on Swifty but you gotta admire Simpson!! Re: Simpson and IBF
Here we go AGAIN, am surei read the same comments off u Billy before the first fight. How is ibf title long overdue wen theres people like Jamie Moore, John murry, kell brook, matt mackilin all still waiting on world title fights after dominating domestic level, John Simpson has never dominated domestic level
Re: Simpson and IBF
Never knew you were offered the fight Michael, news to me that, would have been great to share a ring with ye, great fighter.
Same old from Billy, John may not have performed to his best...but do u think I did with the hand injury?
I watched John at his best in Belfast
John has seen nothing from me yet. I will win April 27th and go home with the British Title

Well you dont win the lonsdale belt outright unless youve dominated the divisionliamsmith88 wrote:Here we go AGAIN, am surei read the same comments off u Billy before the first fight. Re: Simpson and IBF
Really hope Simpson wins and gets his shot! I think he can win, in the last fight he tried to box Smith to much IMO and needed to put more pressure on throwing the combinations and roughing the less experienced Smith, taking him into rough waters. IMO Simpson needs to put on sensible pressure and I think he can get the win! Should be a cracker though
