I think Macklin's best chance is to pressure Sturm like mad. No doubt it could be a very tough ask. Full credit to Macklin for taking the chance, and I don't think his stock will go down much even if he loses.
I just don't see anything special in macklin, I don't see a world title in him. I hope he proves me wrong as he seems a nce lad, but for me he is just another John Duddy level fighter. I think at world level, the best operators will just outbox him. The fact that this is out in Germany as well means Macklin will have to come up with something special. Apart from KO-ing a past it Asikainen, I have never see Macklin look REALLy impressive in any of the fights I've seen him in.
Macklin is shot in my opinion and would have lost to Gevor, and now he is getting in with a better fighter in his own backyard! Sturm wins this at a canter.
