Rule banning McCracken only agreed two weeks ago

I believe it has been mentioned on here but it seems to have gone under the radar really. First the AIBA say it's always been a rule and they just didn't know about McCracken...now this.

Doesn't look good, does it?

No; it looks very fishy and I wish Mr McCracken (or a brother; Spencer maybe?) had a screen name to vent their spleen. Robert has done nothing but good for the England set up; they've gone from strength to strength. There would be a far weaker team if it weren't for the man (and I am just a fan). Can't someone very rich sponsor him as an adviser?

I know this will upset a few of the knockers on here...but, I had this tale as a proper exclusive in Tuesday's Independent - a full day before anybody else. The Independent is a paper, only parts of it are online and because it was filed at 9pm on Monday it was just a short piece...that was once known as 'boxing writing'. Nice.

Adios.

I'm not sure why that would upset anyone - good tale, well done.

Not sure Ian. I'm quite distressed.

What's a paper? How can it exist if it isn't online?

I have always found that the reason these amateur officials, in their ivory tower, don't like help from the pro's is because it highlights how useless they are and suddenly their highy paid jobs become under threat.

Rob McCracken is one of the most soundest people in boxing.

Never screams and shouts like a woman, has zero ego and will talk openly and honestly with anybody.

In the many press conferences ive sat through as Froch says he will smoke boots etc, McCracken has always been very courteous and professional towards the opponent and their team before, during and after any contest.

I remember pre-Dodson and Froch was ready to commit murder. Rob just told Carl to relax, that he knows of Tony and he's a nice person and this is all a front. That it would be wrapped up in the first half.

Froch landed a thumping body shot, and McCracken came straight in through the ropes to see if Tony was ok. That's just the kind of person he is.

There are a lots of trainers out there and family members who go round lording it up like some sort of minor celebrity - you'll never see Rob McCracken doing that. He wont roll up in a bling Audi or Merc and ponce round in a flash suit wearing his ego on his arm.

Nor will he regale you of sparring McClellan and working alongside Floyd Mayweather in the gyms.

He takes everything with a pinch of salt and just gets on with it. And is exactly the right kind of person to lead our country to honours.

Seems a top bloke. You never see him trying to steal any of the limelight pre or post fight, don't even recall seeing much of him in the fight camp 360 show (may be wrong as my memory's wank)
