That's more like it, a good old fashioned grudge match with insults flying all over the place.
I know PC is all the rage, but there's nothing more boring than a highly respectful presser, with both fighters bowing, shaking hands and saying how much they love & respect each other - Zzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Like Johnny Z-Man Nelson and his mate Rudiger from Germany recently
"Johnny is such a nice fellow, he often invites me round for tea. And our wives get on very well....etc etc" Puleeeze.

Haye/Hobson is looking a good one - what's the picks on this one then?

Haye early, or Hobson late? Or the other way round?

Question marks remain over Haye's ability to win fights once he has put the hurt on someone and they are still there. The frighterner against Lolenga mock and the complete cave-in against Thompson.

He has shown a more measured pace since then, but can he do so in such a highly charged fight?

What do you reckon, Haye must have had a few unpaid parking fines

Haye by KO inside of 5 rounds.

Haye is a class act, but his stamina really does need sorting out.

Apparently he does hardly any cardio work in training.

I spoke to him at the Dinner show in Grosvenor Sq, last week.

He is well up for this fight, and said he weighed about 206lbs

Not sure, but I'd absolutely love Hobson to knock him out. Haye talks like he's conquered the world or something, he hasn't even won any sort of title yet.

I think if it goes past 3 rounds then Hobson will win. Haye has to hurt him early and get on top. WIll pick nearer the time.

Haye cannot afford to throw everything into the first 3 rounds like he did against Thompson, I don't know though that Hobson is going to be able to hang with Haye like Thompson did, Thompson is a canny old bugger who is very good at looking awful but luring his opponents in and has a ramrod jab which really batters his opponents.

I know everyone is looking forward to this fight but can I put my sensible hat on and ask, how on earth is David Haye the mandatory and not Carl Thompson - umm who won that fight.

As for this contest, I think if Haye takes his time early on he should win. Although, Hobson might (I'm not sure) have the height and reach advantage, which Haye will find odd to cope with as he is usually much taller than his opponent.

I just realised I said exactly the same words for Woods vs Gonzales.

Thompson is the custodian of a 'world' belt and as such can't contest the British title.

However, Haye's insertion as mandatory is plainly ridiculous given that he hasn't beaten a ranked British fighter yet.

But in truth, sod the politics - this is a genuine grudge match,

If you want evidence, go to DogHouse and do a search on the forum. Booth and Aston have been going at each other for over a year.

Its genuine dislike.

How is Haye's stamina such an issue, still?

Clearly it was a problem a long time ago, what the heck does he do in training? Coming in strong but unfit is just asking for trouble. Doing it once is bad enough, but to keep on doing it is unforgiveable. Unless he wants to be Butterbean.

I'm really looking forward to this one.

Haye's stamina has to be an issue, he hasn't shown anyone yet he has resolved the problem since he lost to Thompson as he has only had routine untesting workouts. I pick Haye in around six rounds, didn't realise there was so much bad feeling going into this fight. Haye perhaps is not deserving yet of his shot but i admire him as he seems to be a guy who isn't afraid to take on a challenge.

interesitng stuff, dunno hobsons got a good chin and is a big hard sod, while having touted haye once before to ber made to look a bit silly, im wary of doing it again.

dont get me wrong guy has the offensive skills to be world class but the constant stories of lack of cardio work concern me.

still haye tko 5 in a corker.

I've settled on Haye winning in explosive fashion, inside 3 rounds. Hobson is a solid enough all rounder but that's not enough.

But if it does go past 6....

Bet that was good Hitters.....goes like this plod plod plod jab plod plod jab plod plod plod plod jab cross plod plod plod plod plod plod plod jab....ding ding round over....wow you nearly threw 8 punches that round Danny ,well done,see if you can make him work hard this round try to throw 10 punches Danny this round.....
Hobson early or late.....cant resolve stamina problems in a few month,just like any sport it takes time to develop and running long and hard takes time.
Cant resolve chin weaknesses,Hobson has more or less had every one down in last 5 years even late in fights,only Scott didnt go down but was hurt a few times.
Hobson never stopped by punches or ko`ed in 20 years of boxing...been in with loads of pnunchers Rothman(prime),Arslan,Scott,Norton,Swaby (twice) and Moran....barely even down.....
Cant gain experience over night....Haye has served the most mediocre apprenticeship by any fighter ever,useless infact and will pay for it against seasoned hard man Hobson.
Danny Williams is possibly the worst sparring partner for a Hobson fight,Hobson throws 70 long straight hard shots a round for 12 rounds,and puts them together in fights in eights and tens when the chance comes....go try to find anyone in britain to emulate it cos it cant be done....but Williams is dreadful,yes man sparring,all them fighters in that camp are overweight undertrained and overhyped plodders who tell the trainers what they are gonna do....you always pay in this game....
