Fres would be a good addition...so the line up so far is:
Kevin Johnson
Mike Perez
Richel Hersisia
Konstantin Airich
Michael Sprott
Fres Oquendo
Will be interesting who they get for the final 2 places, surely they need at least 1 more British/Irish boxer involved?
Eddie Hearn said that nearly all confirmed. Mentioned a canadian fighter did not mention Hersisia again. Sprott see it as opportunity for bigger things.
Canadian fighter? If it's Bermane Stiverne then i'd make him my fave to win the tournament, he's one of the hardest punching heavyweights in boxing outside of the Klits and Haye and would suit a 3 rd fight format.
Well if Hersisia was dropped that wouldn't be any loss.

bermain stiverne is average
He's no joe frazier but would be a good edition to prize fighter i reckon just for his power alone.
Maybe Canadian champion pajkic. Was rumoured to be fighting tyson fury not long ago and if he does this it'll boost his profile over here, possibly leading to him being in the mix for the commonwealth which he'll be eligible for

I think you might be right about that one. Stiverne is very highly ranked with the WBA and there have been a lot of rumors about him fighting Austin in a title eliminator. I can't see him giving up that opportunity for this tournament.
Is it still 32 grand for the winner? - Let's face it was only ever going to get B-level and maybe the odd upcomer in the heavyweight division. It's a good concept but your good old fashioned boxing bill is a much better one (in my opinion)

They weren't hand picked surely....
I think the fact that he lost to Akinwande and Rodrigues shows that it wasn't a case of hand picking.
Agreed
Ok my bad he didnt hand pick his fights. I just rewatched what he said and he stated he could never have been a genuine heavy because he didnt have the power and could have only competed in hand picked fights. But still the point is he was a cruiser he fought 5 times out of 45 at wbf level at heavyweight and lost 3 of those fights. 2 years of a 20 year career doesnt make him any type of heavyweight.

Groves-Degale gonna be a cracker, I would love to have been back for that - I think Degale wins but I'd like to see Groves do him - We'll definatly go to a few I'm back 12th June - line them up. I'm gonna go and watch Chonlatarn Piriyapinyo (37-0)in Chang Mai thailand on june 3rd - should be different.
