Tommy Morrison

Post by Quixall »

Has anyone seen the trailers for fight night champion with tommy morrison ?

I was suprised how old he looked and he doesnt look in good shape either !!

he was talking as if he had no teeth, looked like he had lost a lot of weight, slightly gaunt looking and seemed fidgety. I was quite suprised at his decline.

I know he made a brief comeback a few years ago and reckoned that he wasn't h.i.v positive anymore, so I'm not sure whether that is a contributory factor.

you certainly wouldn't recognise him as tommy Morrison

What do you guy's thinks ?

I believe he's had problems with drugs over the years as well so that could be a factor too.

thats true. It just seems as if his lifestyle over the years has finally caught up with him. He sort of looks half crazy in the video. Its amazing how many boxers do well, earn a lot of money, get fame and recognition and then dive off a cliff head first !!!!

Tommy has half lost it; talking all kinds of odd nonsense.....

I saw Rocky V the other day...Morrison is the ultimate fall from grace. Tragic really. He is clearly deluded and still thinks he can come back.... to what, who knows......

Didn't he get diagnosed with Aids? Thought I read somewhere that he said he got misdiagnosed?

He was a great fighter to watch in his prime. He had a bad chin sure enough, but he could really punch and he looked the part.
Life is hard and he has gone off of the tracks.
That man had the world at his feet for a while, money, women, fame etc but couldn't handle it.
I hope that he gets his act together a bit before its too late.

One of the most exciting fighters you'll ever see.

The courage he showed in overcoming Joe Hipp with a broken hand and jaw was admirable.

Then there were the KO victories over Carl Williams having gone down twice, and the incredible KO stoppage of the durable Razor Ruddock.

Brave man, all hail Tommy Morrison for bringing excitement to the game which has been lacking since he retired through ill health.

From memory he had a big swollen abdomen, akin to HGH abuse you see amongst bodybuilders as their internal organs fill out along with their muscles.

One of my favourite ever fighters. I really hope Tommy Doesn't have the virus....but by the look of him and re-searching the whole story over the years I do think he has it.

It is sad, he would get more support if he admitted it. He seemed healthy a couple of years ago and I too was shocked at the trailer.

Good god....just watched it. I have never seen Tommy look so dreadful - physically and also all the twitching. And what is it with his voice?? It sounds completely different.

It's all growelly and gravelly....

Maybe he wants a job with sky Sports??? :D

That was horrible. Not only did he look different, but his whole personality appears to have changed. If I were to bet, I'd say drug user — and on drugs at the time he was interviewed. Damned shame, he was a really nice bloke and a decent fighter back in the day.

From interviews before the Bent loss and HIV thing he really seemed like he had his head screwed on. Very sharp and intelligent. It's sad, but too much of anything can do you in and it looks like it has for him.

I was watching a documentary on Jean Claude Van Damme last night and I must say that he appears to be losing the plot too. He was gaunt, cranky, emotional and a bit of an asshole. I hear that he is fond of the booze, but Id say that its an excuse for his real vice which must be drugs.

He is preparing to take on a former Thai Boxer and Olympic gold medalist boxer in a kickboxing match. The Thai fighter is 38 and Van Damme is 50. Van Damme hasn't fought i competition in 29 years!!! Needless to say that if this is a straight fight the Belgian will have his ass handed to him by the Asian fighter.

Its hard for a fighter to admit that he is over the hill.

Yeah, he does action movies in Asia now. The bout wont be until November and with the state of Van Damme, I doubt it will happen at all.

i think that "misdiagnosis" was an attempt to launch the comeback a few years ago.

Agreed. I think he has a history of drug abuse - coke, marijuana for certain...not to mention alcohol.

I read a disturbing article posted on the Current Scene; about how he'd 'teleported' out of a bar etc

I am/was a big fan of Morrison's...but he's clearly has lost it. HE has been deluded for years.

Has there ever been such a clear example of a 'golden boy' dropping so far? (I mean you have to remember he was in a major Hollywood film as well.)
