katsidis v john murray ... no that would be fun to watch???
allegedly would never go for it and neither would murray probably, but it would be a graet slugfest with a little bit of boxing thrown in aswell. i would love to see katsidis fighting over here again.
Re: katsidis v john murray ... no that would be fun to watch???
Katsidis wins. Would be good to see him back over here. His only defeats have came against World Champs and I just don't think Murray is near World Level.
Re: katsidis v john murray ... no that would be fun to watch???
Murrays major problem is how inactive he is, he always looks rusty whenever he steps into the ring. If he fought more I think he would look a better than he did in his last outing. He wasn't near ring sharp which is something he would definitely need before stepping in with someone like Katsidis.
Re: katsidis v john murray ... no that would be fun to watch???
There has got to be a time when the hard fights catch up with Katsidis - I think it was evident last weekend.DougieC30 wrote:Katsidis wins. Would be good to see him back over here. His only defeats have came against World Champs and I just don't think Murray is near World Level.

Lets see if Murray can step up a level against Rees first
Re: katsidis v john murray ... no that would be fun to watch???
He did get his head boxed right off the other night but that was against a quality operator. Murray would not be able to keep Katsidis on the end of his jab the way guerero did. The wars will catch up with Katsidis but I think he would still have enuff left in him to deal with Murraystujones wrote:There has got to be a time when the hard fights catch up with Katsidis - I think it was evident last weekend.DougieC30 wrote:Katsidis wins. Would be a very good fight and these hard fights must start catching up with Katsidis sooner or later. Whilst Murray should be aiming for guys like this, that Robert Guerrero would skin Murray alive. Like I say, it's who he must aim for, but John looks a bit short of this class.
Re: katsidis v john murray ... no that would be fun to watch???
Yep, even the way his face starting swelling up wasn't a good sign.stujones wrote:There has got to be a time when the hard fights catch up with Katsidis - I think it was evident last weekend.DougieC30 wrote:Katsidis wins. i think murray busts up katsidis. whether we think he will or will not achieve at world level, let's not take for granted EBU fights like murray-rees and murray-mitchell. i'm sure any of us who still have sky sports will tune into those fights.

I'm with you. He's been in a lot of wars and would be well worth the risk. Murrays relentlessness could be enough to get him by and throw him in to the top mix.stujones wrote:There has got to be a time when the hard fights catch up with Katsidis - I think it was evident last weekend.DougieC30 wrote:Katsidis wins. Katsidis is a class operator but you've got to be able to beat someone like him to get your name up there

This fight has Katsidis victory all over it. Murray is far to hittable to be taking world class power for any length of time.
Re: katsidis v john murray ... no that would be fun to watch???
Murray v Katsidis would be a really entertaining bout; Michael has no give in him at all and it would be good to see if John could force the issue or would back off and try to pot shot.
Both Katsidis and Murray are excellent fighters but could both get in with Guerrero at the same time and come out with losses.

I am a MASSIVE Kat fan, but I think he's on the way down now. It would still be a close fight with Murray, but the Kat that fought between Earl and Marquez would just be too much for Muzza, IMO.

if he can't beat katsidis how the hell is going to cope with the likes of Guerrero, Soto or the master JMM ? I think Murray might just have found his level unless he can pull a Hatton v Kosta Tszyu performance out of the bag

Sadly Murray has been nowhere near anyone of Katsidis class so it's difficult to judge. I'd imagine Murray is fresher but we know who the puncher is in this fight.

Re: katsidis v john murray ... no that would be fun to watch???
I must admit I too like the sounds of it as you have two very aggressrive come forward fighters who will throw big bombs and will probably be in each others faces for the whole 12 rounds or until either one of them breaks. I just feel that if it ever got made I just feel that John Murray could nick it as I can see his vicious body punching sapping the air out of Michael Katisdis before stopping mid to late rounds as Katsidis is battered to a standstill, although it is would not the type of fight you would stick Katsidis in after back to back losses to Juan Manuel Marquez and Robert Guerrero.. His confidence has got to be pretty low.
Re: katsidis v john murray ... no that would be fun to watch???
I think katsidis has about two or three years left to be honest, he just loves fighting.
I'll never forget the Graham Earl fight, absolutely awsome. I'm not convinced Murray could handle the big punches in such a quantity that katsidis throws them.

I think Murray is waiting to be exposed at top level.
Ditto Barker, Rhodes, Cleverly, Macklin, Brook.
Not wishing to be a smart-ass, but history proves we have a finite number of world class fighters in any 5 year spell.
1 of the above might buck the trend, but I doubt it.

I would maybe say both fighters have found their level. Katsidis is a world class fighter but he'll never be elite. Murray is still relatively young and the fresher fighter but his careers stalled the last few years. If he ever wins a world title at LW it wont be against any of the current champs or top contenders. He's too easy to hit. I think Katsidis would grind him down.

Unfortunately,i think you are correct.I also think Khan,Haye and Froch will all be defeated over the next 18 months.DeGale and possibly Gavin the next world stars for me.Watching Guerrero against Katsidis the other night, the same man who destroyed Mitchell made it painfully clear just how far most of our lads are from genuine world level.deadpan wrote:I think Murray is waiting to be exposed at top level.

Most people on this forum say Murray is not world level which is hard to predict until he has fought some top names.
Hatton was in lots of wars like Murray before he made the step up and look what he went on to achieve.
Also, I dont believe Katsidis is world level, the 3 fights he has lost have been steps up in class and on each occasion he has been outclassed. In all 3 fights he has proved he has the punchers chance, but he has never once looked like competing.

Hatton's opponents that gave him tough fights before Tszyu were fringe world class themselves. Also, only one of these gave Hatton real problems (Magee). Thaxton cause a cut yes, fight should have been stopped IMO, but Hatton dominated the fight, as he did vs Phillips and Tackie (not losing a round to Tackie).Josh1111 wrote:Most people on this forum say Murray is not world level which is hard to predict until he has fought some top names.

Murray is having struggles against guys not likely to win EBU title fights.

Amen Grannyman... That fight was completely crazy with knockdowns all over the place, Mickey Vann throwing the towel out of the ring from Earl's corner (I think) it was one of the most exciting fights I have ever seen, and there were times you watched it you thought Earl was going get stopped or vice versa and then they would suddenly rally.grannyman wrote:I think katsidis has about two or three years left to be honest, he just loves fighting.

P.S. Whilst I'm here if you could see your way to Carl Froch winning the Super6, sparking Ward in the final then I'd be very appreciative thanks

Hatton wasn't in lots of wars at all. He pretty much steamrollered most of his opponents with the exception of Magee.Josh1111 wrote:Most people on this forum say Murray is not world level which is hard to predict until he has fought some top names.

Oops and Thaxton.
