All the title news from the BBBoC
Re: All the title news from the BBBoC
It's David Price. But that one slipped under the radar, should be a good test.
Re: All the title news from the BBBoC
Nice to see Bellew-McKenzie back on the list, come on Bomber!!
Looking forward to Pryce-McDermott already, excellent fight for Prycey just what his career needs. It's a tough ask though, because only the elite domestic fighters beat BIG John, so we should findout more about the BIG Scouser in this one

Seen that other thing from the Board about IJL having received a 'severe reprimand' over that Prizefighter scorecard?
Re: All the title news from the BBBoC
What do they think he did wrong?Glyn Leach wrote:Seen that other thing from the Board about IJL having received a 'severe reprimand' over that Prizefighter scorecard?
Is that little announcement the end of the matter as far as they are concerned?
Re: All the title news from the BBBoC
That's wrong!! Frankie would fight anyone, he'd never knock back a fight, Lomax is better than Amar.. Frankie is the future of our game in this country IMHO ;)kamicazze wrote:Gavin didnt want to fight Amar?

Guess so Horse. I believe it's over the round where he scored the guy who'd been knocked down the winner, but the notice is pretty vague:Horse wrote:What do they think he did wrong?Glyn Leach wrote:Seen that other thing from the Board about IJL having received a 'severe reprimand' over that Prizefighter scorecard?

Referee Mr. Ian John-Lewis appeared before the Stewards of the Board regarding his performance at the recent Prizefighter tournament in Liverpool on Wednesday, 23rd March 2011.
Following Mr. John-Lewis’ evidence, the Stewards have issued a severe reprimand and advised of future conduct.

It doesn't really mean anything, does it?Glyn Leach wrote:Guess so Horse. I believe it's over the round where he scored the guy who'd been knocked down the winner, but the notice is pretty vague:

Was Ian John Lewis instructed not to score the fight a draw? Did the BBBofC give their permission for there to be a no draw policy at PrizeFighter?
It seems he only got "in trouble" because his scoring of the last round was so clearly wrong, rather than the BBBofC seeing a problem with him trying to desperately score the fight to one fighter or the other, instead of scoring the fight the obvious way and giving a draw.

You'd have to ask them Horse. Looks to me as though they just wanted to be seen to be doing something about something people were complaining about.

Yeah, I was just throwing the questions out there really.Glyn Leach wrote:You'd have to ask them Horse.
Do you think they satisfied anyone with this announcement? It makes me have less respect for them than I would have if they had done nothing.Glyn Leach wrote:Looks to me as though they just wanted to be seen to be doing something about something people were complaining about.

Make you right imo the English aint big enough for him.. Frinkie is rated 6 in UK imo he beats Daws Wright and Cook now you'v also got British Champion Ashley Theophane who aint on the list who i think would be an easier fight then Wright and Cook, Theophane has been offered the fight and dont fancy it at all..
1 Amir Khan
2 Paul McCloskey
3 Lenny Daws
4 Nigel Wright
5 Jason Cook
6 Frankie Gavin
Re: All the title news from the BBBoC
Shouldn't Rob Norton have been given a mandatory challenger? He hasn't fought in over a year.
Hide has legal troubles, Maccarinelli is moving down to light heavyweight and Afolabi might not be eligible. Dunstan, the English champion, is the obvious choice to be made mandatory challenger if the other major British cruiserweights are unavailable.
Also, Barker hasn't fought for over a year either and hasn't defended the British title in the 16 1/2 months since he won the title.
Is there no one worthy of becoming his mandatory challenger, or being given an eliminator for the title? Is the Commonwealth champion Martin Murray not worthy?

Re: All the title news from the BBBoC
Totally disagree. What is boring about Nigel Wright? Did you see him against Kevin Mac in the rematch or holding Daws to a draw, defeating Alex Arthur? I dont think he can be called negative at all,he is an excellently schooled southpaw boxer/puncher.Solid English champ/British challenger at 10st and who knows at Lightweight.I think he would beat the likes of Steve Williams with a lot to spare.fasteddie wrote:nigel wright says he is the most avoided fighter in britain,i disagree id go as far as saying he is the most boring fighter in british boxing. he cant get the fights cause the t.v companies dont wanna see a boring fight
Re: All the title news from the BBBoC
