KHAN'S SURVIVED A WEEKEND OF UPSETS

Post by DIRT SUGAR »

Well something was obviously in the air as Berto and Lopez both lost their titles. Goes to show that if you the big fights aren't made there's always a banana skin of an opponent just round the corner ready to dash your plans.

Khan has got that one out of the way and in my opinion is getting far too much stickand can now look ahead to Bradley, which is the fight that is going to really make or break him.

Please put "berto spoiler" in the thread title, so as not to ruin the result of the berto match for everyone else who hasn't seen it yet...

I think the requests for "spoilers" is sometimes OTT - when fights are not on UK TV.

I thought Victor might pull off the upset, as Berto is overrated but never in 100 years did I think Salido would put a dent in Lopez, I thought Lopez might even stop him!

This weekend has hurt me in the prediction league. I'm anticipating being bum of the week as I also picked Booth to beat Martinez too!

Ortiz beating Berto wasn't reslly an upset. Ortiz is a top notch fighter...

I knew Ortiz v Berto was always going to be a close fight. I went Berto Split decision. Salido gave Gamboa a bit of trouble when they boxes, but never expectes him to cause a huge upset in STOPPING Lopez. If Chris John gets beat it will cap of a crazy weekend

Apparently Lopez was throwing punches back when he was stopped, not seen it myself but if that's the case then it's another daft stoppage.

I just watched the stoppage there and too be honest I think it may have come a tad too early. Lopez was backed up against the ropes and he was taking punches but he was throwing them back, not with accuracy or conviction but he was still there. I don't like getting on referees backs because I would rather see the fight stopped a punch too early than one too late, but I would have let this one go a little longer.
