Lopez/Salido - Spoiler

Post by ArtOfWar »

Didn't see that one coming. Salido's best result was against Robert Guerrero, but then he got done for steroids straight after and the fight was changed to a no contest.

I'm a bit bummed out actually, because Lopez v Gomboa would have been a great fight. Obviously it can still happen, but this is a spanner in the works. It takes some of the shine off that fight and now Lopez will need time to work his way back up.

Another perfect example of why match up's should happen as soon as possible. That's why i'm glad Degale/Groves is happening now even though lot's of people were saying it should happen further down the line. You don't know what the future holds so get it on when you can.

Lopez is gonna be out of pocked now. Maybe it will give Bob Arum a kick up the arse, although I doubt it.

I really couldn't believe this result I thought Lope was truly top class and would walk through Salido and maybe even force a stoppage! Never seen that coming at all

That was a good fight! I've not seen Salido before but he is a very good fighter and puncher. I've seen Lopez better, he seemed sluggish and not as precise with his feet, the angles weren't right but Salido well deserved that win. In Lopez' home town1 Bet he's on top of the world today. Lopez will come back but it looks like Gamboa would be a bridge toooo far!

I remember Salido upsetting Guerrero, didn't realise that win had been overturned.

Not sure what to make of Lopez, he seems determined to make things as hard as he can for himself.

Reminds me a little of McClellan, seems to have fallen in love with his power and is constantly in search and destroy mode instead of using his height and reach advantages.

Fair play to Salido though, whether Lopez had taken him lightly or not, he was on mark.
