Boxer pay

Post by kamicazze »

does the fact that sky now have a monopoly on british boxing dictate how much pay boxers get? from the card openers to headliners. would it be less than before. I know figures from say 15 years ago but financial times have changed. What kind of pay do they get nowadays?

I have not got a clue to be honest but I reckon a good PPV undercard could get put together on £120 grand. There's got to be 3 or 4 really good, pretty much 50/50 fights between some ambitious lads for that money.

truth to be honest i make a shit wage. 6.47 an hour. When jobs are specified online they always say about the pay in the job, same with pro footballers. their pay is always public knowledge but boxers is more down to research

thank you mr fox. its the old shitty tesco wage at the minute until i qualify with other things. From what i gather a tv 4 rounder can get anything from 1500 to 3,500 unless of course their a amir khan or james degale sort of person in a 4 rounder. Then for the small halls, a 4 rounder gets 1000 - 1500. 10 rounders normally get 6 - 8 grand. or so on. And it also depends on ticket sales. I may be completely wrong or outdated but thats what ive been told

Good luck with the studies :TU: I weren't being a dick. I think that the off TV fighters box for far less than the TV level boxers. Johnny Greaves boxes pretty (very) regular and if he sees your thread he'll know more than most what the crack is.
