Some turn out to be fair. All the controversy wont have done the lads profile any harm.

A community backing a fighter. Casual regular people talking about boxing and showing passion. It's good for boxing. I wish there was more of this.

Great to see so many peopling supporting McCloskey. He definitely wasn't cheated out of anything though. This fight has become way more controversial than it should be.

Of course he was cheated.

Cheated out of the chance to turn the fight around in the second half of the fight. To say otherwise is sheer stupidity in my opinion.

Maybe Khan would have gone on to romp it or even stop McCloskey, but maybe it would have been the other way around. Thats boxing, things can turn around in a split second. The cut was barely worth even talking about and what made it all the more ironic was the farcial Barrera cut situation with Khan.

I thought the stoppage was early, but that doesn't qualify as cheating imo, just a difference in judgement. As for what would have happened if the bout went on, we won't know, but it was Khan coming on strong in the last round.

Is this for real?

I'd hate to be McCloskey right now, especially if I'd asked the doctor not to continue.

McCloskey shouldn't be blamed for the fight being stopped, it was the doctor and referee's fault.

If the doctor says it is a bad cut how can MCCloskey argue and say he is wrong if he can't see the cut?

Mcloskey must have gotten very emotional when he saw the amount of men women and children that turned out on the streets to welcome him home.
Really hope he gets another chance although it obviously won't be against khan.
Maybe a bout against maidana can be set up for the interim title.

I think given the obvious support McCloskey has and the publicity generated, Matchroom should really strike while the iron's hot. McCloskey isn't going to get a rematch anytime soon so the Hearns need to put their hands in their pockets and get a decent opponent so it leads to another shot at different title. I've see Maidana mentioned, but he won't be cheap he got something like $500,000 for the Khan fight. Maybe Morrales, but again he will be expensive. It's time for the Hearns to show their ambitions and stage a big fight of their own instead of being "the oppnent" on a volunary defence.

Aye, reckon they'll strip him as he is coming off a defeat. Ideal world, they'd allow him to lose it in the ring.
Isn't it the rules that they are stripped when they sign to fight for the title - Sosnowski, Matthew Hatton etc.

My understanding is that you automatically vacate the EBU title upon the first bell of a world title fight.

Effing stupid rule. They should apply a bit of commonsense, update their champonship notices, kill the person who designed the website and then retire from the sport.

I'm joking, clearly.
Someone should approach them about the website.

They could give some kid £500 and he'd knock together something decent in a weekend. Its a shambles alright, its better than the BUI website though, ever visited that?
